Outstanding! Owned by a school administrator so hence the theme. Super cool little shop with plenty flavors of home-made ice cream! There is a list of regular flavors they always have available and then a cooler full of rotating flavors. We have been coming here pretty much weekly for the last six months and each time there seems to be new flavors! Some of the stand-outs for me tend to be "Hippie Chip" (like a chai latte with chocolate chips), "Dark side" (Dark chocolate w/ chocolate chips), "Peanut butter cup", "chocolate milk and cookies," and "Nutty Brown," (nutella flavor with nuts). They also have a few choices that contain liquor. You'll find those listed on the sign that says "Teachers' Lounge." :) You can get your ice cream in a cup, or regular cone, but I highly recommend the home-made waffle cones or bowls! A lot of times they will be making the cones as we walk in! So super fresh and delicious! They also have shakes, banana splits, sundaes, tubs to go and ice cream pies in the cooler. I am addicted to this ice cream since this is the only ice cream that I doesn't give me stomach issues after I eat! The decor is cute and there is supposedly a teacher's lounge in the back where you can get ice cream with booze! FLAVORS: They have about 6 - 7 standard flavors available every day: Ghirardelli Chocolate, Mexican Vanilla, Strawberry Fields Forever, Brown Butter Pecan, Banana Puddin, Cafe au Lait, Nutty Brown, and Sugar Free Vanilla. There are are always 6-8 new flavors every couple of days, and wow they are incredibly creative! The service is so friendly and they are very willing to let you taste a little bit of everything! My FAVORITE flavors so far: The Picard (earl grey tea ice cream with crumbles of buttery tea cookies), Blueberry Muffin Top (blueberry ice cream with blueberry muffin crumbles), Carrot Cake, and Pistachio. First time coming here and I'm already itching to go back for more!!! If you're a coffee lover, try their coffee flavored ice cream. It's amazing! Don't be shy to ask for a sample of one that you've never tried before! The prices ate very reasonable and I believe educators get a discount. The cooler seemed like it had been left open too much, leaving the ice cream overly soft and half melted. The girl serving the ice cream couldn't answer basic questions about what was in a few of the ice creams, for example the sweet potato ice cream. And the price- almost $8 including tax for a two scoop in a waffle bowl, that's just steep. It wasn't bad ice cream but the mismatch of the quality, service and price was too much to rate this place higher than 3 stars. read more

Their flavors are so well done, in that they use fresh ingredients in more than appropriate quantities in order to impart flavor. The blueberry has real blueberries, the carrot cake has tons of actual cake mixed in, the mint has real mint and Andes chocolate mixed in, etc. Outstanding. My personal favorites after sampling almost all of the flavors there are the Earl grey flavor and the carrot cake flavor. They blew my mind. It's a bit on the expensive size but the amount of ice cream they give you for the price makes it worth it. The banana pudding was out of this world, as was the Speculous cookie butter inspired flavor. I adore the old school pictures of Harlingen and the school house motif. This is the best ice cream shop I have ever been to. Forget the chains and head to Schoolhouse Creamery for homemade ice cream served by folks passionate in what they do. With a constantly revolving menu of flavors you are welcome to try them all first, and you are going to want to try them all. Why? There are no basic flavors here. From key lime pie, to carrot cake, and margarita (found in their alcoholic section), you won't have the room in your stomach to eat whole servings of them all, even though you will want to. They don't stop at just ice cream, as there are also ice cream cakes. You an get your items in a waffle bowl or waffle cone, and I get mine in the bowl. My faves are the Girradelli chocolate brownie, the peanut butter crunch & the banana pudding (with real wafers!!!). If I have any suggestions it would be to add a tad more milk to the shakes.
