I have been doing surveys for a time and have had some slow responses in the past but have recently…read moresubmitted a payment of reward request and no answer after more than 2 weeks. I even called and no one answered the phone so I left messages, again no response and no reward which amounts to $125.00. Not very honest.

Cido sent me an e-mail survey involving a set of professional reference materials I have used for…read moreyears. I was offered five questions in exchange for small Amazon card, Cido wants survey data, gets it and THEN decides that the respondent does not "qualify." The language is right up front in the junk email I received. It's just not that easy to read off the screen (font is about 4 pt). And probably more people will read this review than will read three words, in 4pt. font, in their email. It's understandable to "qualify" respondents. If this is done in good faith, the respondent is qualified/disqualified immediately, and then, *if qualified*, respondent answers the questions asked, and then receives the small compensation. That didn't happen here; for me to have received this e-mail, they already knew quite a bit about me. They collected my data, and my time and paid nothing. My e-mail address isn't freely given or easily obtainable. They paid someone (or wrote a program) to get it. Of course I unsubscribed. I have been solicited for small, short surveys with reputable companies in the past, and collected my "cookie" at the end. It looks like Cido is riding on the coattails of reputable market research companies that reward respondents for the truthful data provided, which is another reasons I give a "thumbs down." Don't waste your time like I did. And clients of theirs, this whole review may sound like an unwitting compliment to an aggressive firm; it isn't. If your market researcher is not up-front with how they get information then this will manifest itself in other ways. (Or as we say in my profession: "If they lie about you, they'll lie to you." Or, in others, "Welcome to the sausage factory!")
