Cathy was…read moreextremely aggressive over a very small hiccup- a correction that she claims never made it back via snail mail. We were not upset and even believed her (now I have doubts). 10 days after mailing the correction with no follow up, I called and asked if we could confirm the correction via email, fax or in person before paying in full in order to make sure it was ready by our deadline without the mistake- especially since mail was allegedly not getting to her. We were more than willing to go out of our way to make sure it was right (I offered to hand deliver a check & sign the correction in person on any day that worked for her!). Instead Cathy yelled at a bereaved mother who was trying to buy her baby a grave marker. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone and would not recommend anyone do business here. Minneapolis Granite was much more professional, empathetic, and at a lower price.

It should have been a red flag when Cathy couldn't be bothered to get out of her chair to show samples of headstones and provide options for my mother's headstone. Both my grandmother and my wife were unimpressed from the beginning with the service provided but we pushed forward because we wanted to get my mother's headstone sooner rather than later. We ordered a headstone through Cathy and ended up making a change to the border of the headstone. We decided we wanted granite instead of concrete. We were told this would take additional time, which is completely understandable. Several weeks went by with no update from Cathy. We made a follow-up call to better understand the timing and were told the granite should arrive in about 2 weeks and then be engraved and installed. Two weeks came and went with no update. When we reached out for an update Cathy was rude and dismissive. I was told she didn't appreciate the follow-up calls and it wasn't her fault that we made a change to the order. I was simply asking for an updated ETA, NOT complaining about the length of time it was taking. In the end, Cathy said, "I am refunding your money, and you can go somewhere else!" She then promptly hung up on me. Please, please, PLEASE, go anywhere else.

My experience with Mill City Concrete was beyond what I would've expected from a concrete company…read more They were very polite and professional from start to finish. I can't recommend them enough.

AVOID! I hired them this April to replace my 25' x 35' basement floor and they failed miserably…read more They did my front yard cement last year and when I had an issue they were great, so I hired them again. BIG MISTAKE. They botched the job completely and instead of fixing it they are SUING ME. Long story short, water from the newly finished cement condensed onto the ceiling and walls and ran off the pops and crumbled the walls which flaked and chunked off. The freshly poured cement didn't stand a chance. WORSE, they didn't give the floor enough time to cure to do the last smoothing steel coat so the entire floor finish is uneven (think frosted cake) instead of the smooth, hard finish they said I should do. Did I mention large cracks that are forming all over? To TOP IT OFF, they broke my boiler which needs to be replaced at $11k and is another story altogether. Tim's reaction? Nothing should or could be done. Quote, "I hate to say it this way but it's just a basement". Said it would look better in 90 days after it fully cured. Well, I wasn't going to pay for their mistakes so he changed his tune and offered to "make it right". Offered to put a sealant on it and patch the divets (that he had just said were unfixable). I chose to wait 90 days to see how it looked and whether or not I was going to ask for part of my $5k down payment back. But, his 4 page Terms and Conditions contract is so buttoned up that he can sue after not receiving full payment within 30 days. And at my expense!
