Spent a whole evening here recently, and a great time was had by all. Free table football - big…read morebonus. The idea of this place is it's set out like a three room flat. Walk through the front door into the kitchen/utility room. In the back there is a living room, then further back still is the bedroom (also where you'll find the table football table, oddly. Update: We went to 3 Zimmer Wohnung again last night and I accidently found out that theyve massively expanded! Basically I was looking for the toilet (having never been to them here before) and took a wrong turn in the maze downstairs which landed me in the table-football room. After talking to the barman it seems that they only opened the room up a few weeks ago. So the upstairs is the same 3 Room Flat that we've always known, but downstairs there is a new long room with a few sofas, a second bar and 6 table-football tables. Yes, 6. It's quite a cool game, but it's depressing how good all the locals are at it...

The Markthalle is a bit of a Hamburg metal mecca. If a metal band has been to Hamburg, they've…read morealmost certainly played the Markthalle. It's a mid-sized venue, which (I assume) holds a few thousand people. There's no seating, thankfully, but around the stage the standing area is tiered by quite high steps, meaning that even the smallest person will have a good chance of beign able to see the stage. Tip: The beer is reasonably priced (for a concert venue) at EUR3, but you can easily bring that price down by picking up a few cups which all have a EUR1 deposit, which metallers don't seem to care about so much. Without trying to find any cups, or even moving from my spot, I brought the beer price down to EUR2 per beer :)

If Skelton Warfare or diediedie are your cup of team (I just made those names up), then here's your place. We were here to see the Black Rebel Motorcycle club, and even if you are really short, you can still see them, because it's all tiered standing down to the stage. Great sound quality, good service at the bar, and it's a free sauna too!

The DRINKS: no offered lemon with the Martini, no fitting glass, the Cuba Libre was more Libre than Cuba and the bear was unfortunately not cold enough. BUT the bartender was nice. The MUSIC: great!! 2 DJs in their own world, filling the room with love and delightful beats. Toilettes: Too dark to judge. Crowd: Hip, mainly over 30with a touch to be too flirty. I guess as a single you might score here or there. A nice place to get in the mood for an adventurous trip in the city.
