Horrible and expensive food that gave me food poisoning. My friends ordered this yesterday and I should have said no thanks. I got a chicken wrap that was $15 ($15 for a wrap that's way too small and unimpressive). They got my order completely wrong and put pastrami in it and it was super soggy by the time it arrived from delivery. I took the pastrami out since I was not a fan. Not only that - I got sick from the food. They did make do on this though so I'm giving this place three stars. I appreciate this business' response to my poor experience. While the food is really not so bad, although terribly expensive for what you are getting. I must comment on the incredibly rude service which I received today. The young man behind the counter was so reluctant to tear his eyes away from his cell phone to serve me that I must have stood in front of him for at least half a minute before he even looked at me . Great food, relatively quick, with good customer service experience. Schnitzly doesnt fail my expectations whenever I come into town. The ability to get a multitude of sauces is definitely a plus. My daughter loved her pesto sauce on her schnitzel sandwich, I love the techina and schug on a sesame schnitzel, my son loves their nuggets and fries. My wife had the burger lunch special and enjoyed it with the toppings they werent shy with. The baguettes are fresh and tasty. We will be back next time in LA read more

Decent food but incredibly slow and no customer service. A gentleman in front of me asked for his money back because he had been standing there waiting when I walked in and I got my food before him. I didn't have time to eat the whole thing because they took half an hour to make a schnitzel wrap. That being said, it was a good wrap. I keep hoping for a better experience here but it has disappointed so many times. Among many other kosher restaurants, this place has built itself up as THE place for schnitzel, in salads, in wraps, in rolls, on plates, etc. They offer different types of seasonings like the classic, buffalo, spicy, etc. But it really doesn't live up to much. Their salads are underwhelming and the chicken to veggie ratio is pretty off. I've also had the wraps and they're measly in size and content. The schnitzels themselves seem to be made up of more bread crumb than chicken. As with most other kosher restaurants, the prices are high but the quality/amount of food is lacking. read more

The only reason businesses like this survive is because they cater to the Orthodox community restricted to eat kosher. The food is abysmal, the cost high. I had the falafel plate. The falafel patties clearly came from a box, and arrived cold. The Israeli salad was weak, the supposed tahini sauce did not taste like tahini. My friend had the buffalo plate. The meat looked artificial, coated in sugar and salt and fried. I thought it was disgusting. Saturday night it's packed loud with teenagers. One of the tables was so loose and coming apart, a couple of patrons just turned it over, so no one sits at it. The staff didn't care. Not cheap, but holy cow are the portions huge. Had the seasoned schnitzel salad which was excellent. You choose what you want in it and the prepare it in front of you. So much I had to take half home (and I was pretty hungry at the time). They also have great late hours when everyone else on that strip of Pico is closed. The food here is really good, maybe the best kosher fast food on the Pico strip. Why only 4 stars? They are really slow. I highly recommend calling in your order, otherwise you can wait 20 minutes when they are not even busy. The prices are high, but the portions are huge. A salad easily feeds 2, so when you factor that, prices are reasonable. They should half half salad portions for 1/3 off, that way profit margins stay up, and I don't have to eat a $15 salad by myself. read more

I would recommend one dish for two people and if you're very hungry maybe add an avocado egg roll or some seasoned fries . Why can't a kosher place have good food AND good service? The food here was ok, not as fantastic as so many people have told me. I shared a steak sandwich and ordered an Israeli salad for myself. The sandwich was ok, nothing amazing. This is the type of place that people rely on the sauces to make the meals edible. Made an order for delivery after being a loyal customer for over a year. They didn't include half the order when it was delivered and all the portion sizes were significantly smaller than usual. They clearly just got rid of whatever they had left in the kitchen at the time and didn't bother to make anything more. The food was over cooked as it was probably the only food left. Absolutely terrible. I used to come here when it first opened and havent been back in years and will never be visiting again. The service is awful, staff isn't friendly and act like they're doing you a favor. We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were ready first, cold with no salt. The guy didn't even tell us they were ours, they sat on the counter for 10 minutes until I asked, are those my fries and he begrudgingly said yes. After 30 minutes, our grilled chicken sandwich was finally ready. They brought us a 6 inch when we had ordered a 12 inch. They were nice enough to bring us another 6 inch, that somehow was ready in 60 seconds after the first one took a half an hour. Finally, were ready to eat. A sad, old, stale white baguette, a tonnn of onions and and pickles and the saddest, smallest portion of grilled chicken I have ever seen in my life. If it wasn't for their sauces, the sandwich would have been inedible. Truly disappointing all around, sad to see a kosher restaurant caring so little. Parking was a big problem during lunch and there were only 2 spaces in the back. We ended up parking on the street. They weren't crowded and it seemed like forever to get the food (a wrap, fries, and the salad). Isn't this a fast food place? The guy at the counter also looked like he just got over a cold (red under his nose) but he didn't sound sick and wasn't handling the food so I think it was okay. I had the grilled chicken salad. It was so expensive ($15). It was also HUGE. One person could not possibly eat so much. They should have a smaller option. They put the dressing on it which wasn't so good for taking it home. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The new remodel looks nice. Red and black. We got to sit in a booth which was cool. And they also have ipads but I"m not sure what they are for. Their fare is good, if unremarkable, but so atrocious is the service and so long the wait that this place is certainly to be avoided. One's self-respect and dignity demand nothing less. My ordeal at Schnitzly began at 9:15 one Saturday night, when I made the first of several unsuccessful attempts to call in a to-go order. I couldn't get through, each call meeting with a fast busy signal; thus appeared the first sign that Schnitzly is a determined enemy of its customers' time. Saving time with a phone order not being an option, I placed my order of six items in person, at 9:33. Little did I expect that an hour and a half (no exaggeration) would pass before my first bite. The cashier told me my order would take 25 minutes, an estimate that proved exactly half the time that elapsed before I left the restaurant, food in hand. When I unpacked my order at home, I discovered that one of the two $12.47 baguette sandwiches I'd ordered had been left out. So, back to Schnitzly I went! I told the mashgiach (the kosher supervisor) there of the omission, but he offered no apology, merely telling me that the kitchen staff would set to work on the second baguette sandwich right away. Ten minutes later, one of the staff handed the mashgiach the finished baguette sandwich, but he was so engrossed in a conversation with a friend, he proceeded as if moving in slow motion. The progress of my order then snagged on his preparation of the plastic bag to put the sandwich in. The mashgiach tried opening it, but the two opposing handles were stuck together, and separating them and opening the bag proved too difficult for him to manage without looking down and breaking eye contact with his interlocutor. Amid his continued struggle with the plastic bag, I at last spoke up, telling him that a bag was not necessary, as I didn't want Schnitzly to claim any more of my time than it already had. Annoyed,I briefly explained the many disservices Schnitzly had done me that night, but the mashgiah, for his part, was unmoved. A terse and perfunctory apology besides, he barely acknowledged me. I at last returned home to eat a meal the quest for which had begun nearly two hours early. The food itself wasn't bad, but neither was it especially good. Yet even if Schnitzly's offerings were positively ambrosial, they couldn't redeem the abominable customer service of a restaurant that makes no attempt to hide its contempt for its customers. read more
