Library Apprecitation week is seldom acknowledged. My two daughters however sent me an arrangement from Schneider's Florist. It had dead flowers in the arrangement. You could see where flowers we mashed and where dead flowers had recently been. A white rose was turning yellow and brown. One of my daughters lives in Columbus and the other one in Clarksville. After it was delivered I went back to the store to return it. Of coarse there was a gentleman there who was very rude. He told me to just get somethin. I asked how much they had spent. I called to place an order for flowers for my Mother's funeral and asked for an arrangement on the order of Powerful Prismatic - a very colorful, elegant floral collection. What was delivered was a very boring pastel generic arrangemen that could have been purchased at any grocery store. On top of that, i was charged even more than the original quote. The store offered a full refund, but the damage was done. The poor review is simply due to the extreme difference in what I ordered vs what was received, and the poor quality. Today I spent around $120 for my little girls to get flowers delivered at school. I arrived home to her just now to find out she didn't get them! I called this establishment and lady was extremely hostile. I asked her whats wrong she said duh it's Valentines Day. I said that's not my fault she went ballistic on me then hung up. I tried calling back I asked for management lady states I'm the owner then hung up. Then called back again she hands phone to a guy who was also rude and condescending. These people didn't care one bit. Also I called in their order by 8am this morning not last minute. I've spent alot of money here over years and today I feel I was robbed of my money. So i try calling him back to discuss he doesn't answer. He keeps ignoring me because he knew he was lying. So when he finally answers the phone he shouts at me. I couldn't believe the behavior of this guy. Been doing business with him for years! Very rude and arrogant. I wouldn't give them another penny. I recommend you don't either. I'm always, and forever will be, attracted to locally owned establishments. This flower shop has been run by the same Springfield born and raised family for the last several decades. I was graced to meet Aaron (the son) three or so years ago, via Yelp. He and his wife have moved back to Sf to start transitioning in to keep the gears turning, as his mom and dad enjoy there retirement years. I'll start with the actual building housing this flowertopia. The outside is painted a vibrant lime green with a dark maroon purple trim - anything that catches my eye so immediately is a winner in my book :) Walking in the door, to your right, is a curving staircase. Aaron showed us old photos of this building. This space was originally built to house a gentleman's flower business, and upstairs was his living quarters. Impressive! The different rooms have since been converted to serve more practical purposes (ie, an office, storage room, walk-in flower cooler). At any rate, Aaron's family has done a wonderful job preserving the uniqueness of this shop! At the "front" of house, a giant square-pane glass window lets in enormous sunlight and opens the space to the max. They have a corner area designated for Marie's Candies - a local chocolatier, produced and sold in Springfield! Good golly, the chocolate is unbelievably creamy. The peanut butter squares covered in chocolate are hands-down exquisite!! Sheer bliss. I'm ready to drive back to Springfield, just for a rose and candies FOR MYSELF ;p read more

I called to order a funeral planter shown online that included blooming plants and requested a ribbon included in the upgraded order. I got to the funeral and I was so disappointed in what I saw. None of the plants had blooms but there were three cheap carnations stuck sparsely in with the plants. The three loop ribbon was barely seen above the top of the pot. Honestly, I am pretty disgusted that this was the representation of love and concern for our extended family. read more

Today I made a call to see if they had any ideas of what I would order to give my sister a bouquet that she may be able to keep and plant later while enjoying it in the meantime. She had lost her husband of 47 years and I could have used some suggestions. Instead the lady put me thru to the salesperson that turned out to be one of the owners Aaron. I started out by asking him if he had something that would be good for the living to enjoy for a while and maybe be able to plant in her garden later. His response was not only shocking, but quite rude! He said that they had nothing for the living to keep and plant outside. I couldn't believe how rude and crude he sounded! I said, "ok, I will call someone else." I hung up and called back because I was just shocked at his really mean and rude, especially in a time when I was heartbroken by losing someone in the first place. I told him that I had just spoken to him and he was quite rude. He started yelling at me saying that I called and immediately started slamming him saying that his arrangements weren't for the living or something. I am still not quite certain why he would have taken my asking that way, but even with this, he should never have treated a customer that way!!! How unprofessional!!! He made me so mad that I told him that he was a prick and an asshole and hung up! I don't usually do that, but he was really that bad!!!!! I remember growing up with this florist being so friendly and this was just so not that! He is apparently a member of this family. I would be so ashamed of the way he treats customers! I fully expected help in picking the right arrangement and what I got was angry! I will never ever recommend this florist again and I will be telling everyone I know about what happened as well as posting it on Yelp and Facebook and any other social media. I wanted to get my girlfriend flowers for our anniversary, but wanted to make sure she would be home or at work so I waited until the day of to order. Same day delivery was not a problem and wasn't any extra. I purchased the standard version of the Wondrous Wishes bouqet and it exceeded my expectations. My girlfriend loves Gerbera Daisies and this has plenty along with regular daisies, a few pink roses, and 5 or 6 beautiful lilies. Three of the daisies had not bloomed when it was delivered but opened up during the week making the bouquet seem like new each day. Going on 8 days and the flowers are just now starting to wilt. I like to order flowers for occasions and this was my best experience thus far. I highly recommend them. read more

They were wonderful! I am in California and i needed flowers sent to my mom for Mothers Day. They were nice and helpful. I had a friend who would pick up the flowers before they closed. The store called and asked for the persons number they waited for her to arrive she didn't come but they called me and offered to return the charge on my card. i asked them to wait another day.. Being far away and life being crazy, I forgot to order flowers for Mom and Dad's headstone for Christmas. Called first thing this morning and the same gentleman that took my order several years ago answered the phone today. He remembered exactly where Mom and Dad were buried and they were able to place the flowers today. (which also marks the 32 years of Dad's death) When I used the florist a could of years ago, they were kind enough to send me a picture of the arrangement. When you are so far away and there is no one to check on the delivery and the quality of the arrangement, I was so appreciative of them going the extra mile. I was very upset with the presentation of my grandfathers casket spread. They accepted my order on a Saturday and by Monday morning 8am they did not have the flowers. By 10am they said they were en route. The flowers were supposed to be green and white. There were about 5 off white flowers and the green roses were barely open and not fully colored. WORST FLORIST EVER. Absolutely horrible customer service, horrible quality, shotty product and over priced. I have never had a good experience with Schneider's despite being a loyal customer for 30+ years. I've very big on spending dollars locally, so I try and use them when possible for both personal and business needs. Every time, something doesn't get delivered, the flowers look bad, or BEWARE if you order snacks or fruit from them they just go to Aldi's beforehand and throw them in a basket from the Dollar Store. I tried talking to the owner "Kathy", about the low-level of service, and her attitude for a 30+ year customer was appalling. This is so sad...we have been a customer since 1976. We wanted to send some arrangements to our family members in Springfield since we live a little ways off. We never had any issues in the past. There was a tiny mistake that was made and we called up the to the florist to see what happened. All we wanted was to be sure that we did not miss something on the order. The customer service was not like they use to be. It hurts having to leave such a wonderful florists, but the customer service that they had was not very understanding, they were tell us that we were rude..and the girl that was on the phone with us hung up on us. It was a very rude experience with the florist. So we called back to speak with a manager and he told us that he did not like how we talked to his employe, and that he had deleted us from their system and to go somewhere else. And / or come up and pay cash the next time (when we live about a hour and a half away). They did not give us a chance to talk, they were very interruptived. Even the manager hung up on us. This is really upsetting to know that we were a customer for a long time and now we have been deleted. So sad! read more
