The atmosphere is trendy, modern, cool - with white walls and white furniture, you feel like you're in some sort of prototype BMW dealership. The menu is seasonal and decidedly upscale in presentation. You're not going to break the bank with your order, but the M1 Cafe is a definite step up from the cafeteria options across the street at BMW Welt. At lunchtimes on weekdays, it appears that a lot of the tables are reserved for BMW higher ups in their suits and pantsuits, but if you can snag a table, the food options aren't bad for what is essentially a museum restaurant. It was sour, briny; basically, underextracted. I was so shocked because the English-speaking baristas were helping other customers pick things based on their flavor notes and preferences. My cinnamon bun was yummy at least - a bit of crisp texture, and satisfying gooeyness in the middle. That said, I need a place to work while I'm caffeinating, so I'll have to find a different place in Munich to while away my mornings.
