Throughout my case, it became evident that the firm and Ms. Zeuss were disorganized and lacked a clear understanding of the best course of action, leading to constant changes in guidance. One of the major issues I faced was the lack of transparency regarding the fee structure. I was never provided with a clear breakdown of what would be charged, and this uncertainty extended even to emails discussing mistakes made by both Schlun & Elseven and the notary involved in the process. It was frustrating to see that the firm was not forthright about the costs associated with these errors, further adding to the confusion and financial burden. Furthermore, when I requested access to the Zoom recordings of each attorney session, which would have provided evidence of the contradictory guidance provided through email, I was met with resistance. Schlun & Elseven and Ms. Zeuss refused to share these recordings, raising suspicions about their intentions and undermining my trust in their services. However, what truly shocked me was a comment made by Ms. Zeuss during our interactions. She said, "I did not realize you needed so much hand-holding." As someone who sought legal representation to guide me through a German divorce while I was in the US, I believed it was their responsibility to provide the necessary support and expertise. I was under the impression that I was paying them precisely to "hold my hand" through this complex process, as I had limited knowledge of German family law and procedures. In summary, my experience with Schlun & Elseven, particularly with Lawyer Patricia Zeuss, was highly unsatisfactory.
