When I saw it on Happy Cow (the website for finding vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants worldwide) I hoped it was going to be a good experience. One of the staff (the owner?) told us she is vegan herself, but it is not just a vegan cafe. Lots of options for vegetarians and meat eaters, too. I couldn't find a website for them but they have uploaded a video showing their cafe at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYE2-d4dAzg They had five cake options when we went in (all vegan), and my husband & I shared an apple pie and a chocolate and banana pie, and also took a slice of chocolate cake to take away! I asked for an iced coffee and was offered the choice of having it 'German style', which was to have some ice cream (non-dairy) in it! I decided this sounded amazing and opted for this, and it was a delightful unexpected extra to my caffeine hit. We had a roll with smoked tofu and salad each, and we also had the option of a cashew nut salad but we felt satisfied with all we had ordered. However, that didn't stop us getting a Vego bar on the way out (a big chunky bar of hazelnut and chocolate heaven). It was a great little find in a small town, with friendly (English-speaking) staff and food options which would hopefully suit most diets.

I sat outside on the street, but it looked nice inside with ample seating and they also had outdoor seating in the back. I came in for the gelato which was AMAZING - fresh, smooth, great flavor. They had a nice selection - I went with fruity flavors. It was so good, I also tried the tart. Again, amazing and homemade. I will definitely return and recommend this to others. If you want fresh, clean food, this is a great spot in Bad Windsheim.

The decor is French country and wares are on display throughout so if you find something you like, you can purchase it! I chose the Lebkuchen Latte and my wife had the Cappuccino and both were exquisite! We chose the ham and cheese panini (Schinken und Kase) and it was ALSO amazing. This is off because most of the websites recommending this cafe said they do take away. In any case since we couldn't get a table and they wouldn't let us get take away we left. Very disappointing experience. As an aside, while I'm sure the pastries and coffee on offer are fine, there any plenty of cafes closer to the main square. I don't know that I'd recommend making the trek to this cafe; especially if you are in a hurry or want take away.

I also ordered the cappuccino, which was quite good as well. The Schatz enjoyed his beer. In fact, he enjoyed it so much that I left him there to order seconds and thirds! The décor is quite clean and modern, and the café offers plenty of sitting room. The staff is very personable and friendly. I look forward to visiting again soon!

They had great beer and some light snacks. They also had a restroom available to customers. I got the red beer and the cherry pie. Both were quite good. There were some buskers there putting on a fire street show while we where there which was fun. You go up to the counter and order your beer/snacks/soda there and then take it to your table - no waitstaff! So make sure you find your own table and clean up after yourself! They also do a pfand for the glasses, so your beer costs and extra euro or two and then when you return the mug you get it back. That is good incentive to clean up after yourself! The girls working were very patient with my language barrier and helpful with tea choices. Although there's not much seating, we were able to squeeze into a corner.
