I came here about a month ago for the David Bowie exhibit. It was amazing. Of course it's too late…read moreto pass this tidbit along to help someone, but I purchased my tickets ahead of time online. I really suggest doing that, as the line when I came out was incredibly long. So in case anyone reading this who's planning to visit the exhibit in another city, plan ahead. It was sooo crowded. Of course it was to be expected; it was August in Berlin and anyone who knows anything about Bowie wanted to see it. The only downside to this is sometimes it took ages to be able to see something because of the people crowding around something. Another bummer was not being able to take any photographs, but most of this stuff is online anyway (e.g. with the costumes, you can just look at the man himself online wearing it) so it wasn't a huge deal. But it was such an amazing experience to be able to see this stuff up close. Reading his handwritten lyrics and other tidbits Bowie wrote along the way to stardom was such an experience. The tour went in chronological order, enabling you to see his childhood and even having memorabilia from this period. It had everything and was an in-depth look at his entire life up to now, and I really recommend seeing it if it goes to a city near you.

As my friend had stated this museum is a hit or miss. First off I came to see the Johannes Itten…read moreand Paul Klee exhibit called "COSMOS OF COLOR". I had purchased tickets online before I even arrived to Germany. The exhibit was amazing but the rest of the exhibits within the museum was disappointing. If you buy a ticket online for an exhibit mind you will only be able to see that exhibit and will need to purchase another ticket to enter the other exhibits. If you are a fan of the Bauhaus then trust me when I say that the name "GROPIUS" is simply part of the museums name. There was nothing on the Bauhaus here other than the Klee and Itten exhibit. For more on the Bauhaus be sure to visit the Bauhaus Archiv and a two hour train ride away is the Stiftung Bauhaus in Dessau. I went and it was amazing. http://www.bauhaus.de http://bauhaus-online.de/en/stiftung-bauhaus-dessau

Rules of Bite Club…read more.. Bite Club happens in the KunstHalle on the occasional Saturday. It's basically a too cool for you, trend setting space where Models, Fashion students, Artists, Foodies and DJ's ply their wears, look glamorous and dance around while eating street food. You can feel a bit insecure with your looks and style at first, but once you find your bearings and discover that most of the customers' are just normal looking, this is really a cracking place to eat and drink from 2pm through to 9pm. Tracking through the numerous clothes racks tended by 6' plus modelesque types and past the 3 Female DJ's doing a dance-off you find yourself outside in a tabled courtyard surrounded by food and drink stalls. We opted for beers, appleshorle, coffees with mini tacos and a burger bao (steamed bun with Chinese roast pork burger inside). The burger was fantastic, the mini tacos didn't go down too well, but it's the atmosphere that wins here. The perfect place to wind away the afternoon or night and watch the world cup on the big cinema screen :) I almost forgot to mention the industrial look here. The building's pretty much made up of dozens of slate black shipping containers forming the walls which makes the internal space. Pretty funky! One other thing I forgot to say. Most of the staff spoke English and some couldn't even speak German :-S I found this odd, but it just added to the international coolness that was going down.

The two stars are for the amazing Korean food and the fair prices. However, this place is too small to host a festival like this. One has to try it but I will not return again. I like other street food places because they have no cover charge and waaaaay more food choices.

Although with modern…read morelightning with projectors and good 3D animations it may seem like it's not enough for a museum. But when you reach the final circular atrium, well, that's crazy. I couldn't imagine that I could be for almost 1h looking at that massive 360° poster. The music and lightning mimicking different hours of the day add a lot to the atmosphere. I don't want to imagine how big the Photoshop file for the poster must be. It's a very ambitious image composition, with many of the elements in it (like the photos of humans) taken exclusively for the project. Talented artist and great display!
