The store is slick in design and product with a variety of custom made clothing, mostly shirts, and blouses, with unusual and interesting prints on them. It has the look and feel of a hip millennial clothing shop you might find back home (if your home is in North America or Europe). Lots of staff, all young hipsters, happy to help you find the design of your dreams. Ay Güey offers lots of colours and textures on their products as well as in their store. The decor and feel of the shop are both high end, but the pricing is still Mexican. The custom printed shirts range from around $25 - $35 US, very reasonable for the quality and style that Ay Güey puts out. During my visit, they featured a lot of Frida Kahlo prints, some with a very modern take on her image. They offer a casual clothing brand with contemporary designs inspired by the prehispanic culture. You won't find any of Ay Güey's designs anywhere else on the Calle, so if this is your kind of fashion, or you're looking for something a little different than the regular tourist tees, then it's definitely worth a look. The store has an open and inviting feel to it and just browsing is fine with the staff. Now about that name, Ay Güey, their website defines it as an expression of wonder or disbelief, which works well with their designs. Where do I even begin! OMG, I went in here to look around b4 I returned home off business trip. I…read morehad some extra money to spend. So, I saw this jumper I thought was a sundress. However, for 1st time in 18 days in Guadalajara, did anyone ask to take the item and hold it at cashier. So, I said I may want to buy more stuff. She's like it's our policy. I'm not sure because as I looked around to find someone holding their items I couldn't find. So, I asked to speak to manager who was missing in action for like 30 minutes. Finally, we both used translator to speak to each other. Both of them apologized, but never said whether it's their policy which is a horrible policy. I was trying to give them the rest of my money before I left. I was in such a good mood b4 they slapped the smile off my face so early in the morning. I bought, the item, and left because I have a Bermuda vacation coming up & thought that outfit would be so cooling & nice on a hot day. Not sure what else the store has because I didn't get a chance to see before store employee walked over acting like she was helping just to upset my flow. So, the Donkey store of the week in Guadalajara is this one. Do not shop there. If that's their policy it's a horrible policy to have. Shop at Liverpool which is like a small Macys or Surburia also nice & they have a bathroom because In Mexico you have to pay 6 pesos to use public bathroom. I needed a Starbucks coffee after these idiots try to spoil my day. I told them they lost a future customer. I'll be doing regular business in Guadalajara so they're losing money. Now I know why store was sorta empty. Nobody in their right mine frequent a store they don't feel comfortable. You've been warned. Adios!
