I do not know Stralsund well but I have visited it twice. We went up the church tower to enjoy the…read morewonderful view overlooking the town and right over towards Rügen where we were staying. We did a trip around the harbour - and from below we saw the Rügendamm bridge and the building of the new bridge - it was last year in June when we first came. The town centre was interesting. Lots of lovely shops and little cafes. We went to the Sea Museum and I discovered a Cultural History Museum where I will go next time I am there. We ate Sprotten fish and fish rolls by the harbour and also had a Sanddorn (buckthorn!) ice cream.
