Seems like the only type of care HBHC provides comes in a form of a fee/bill, then they care! I needed life saving medication and was told by my pharmacy that they had sent in numerous prescription refills request to no response and I would not be able to get my medication and they seemed truly genuine- this is Walgreens y'all. I was upset and called in to my Dr's office was told okay well send this one in but you need to schedule a drs appointment, I agreed. I went back to Walgreens the next day and to another MF surprise the request was still no response from MF Howard Brown HC, that set me off! I quickly called HBHC and was told yeah no sorry not going to happen until we see you, how what why?! Sir your office told me they were doing 1 more refill- yeah no sorry. I hung up and scheduled a dr with RUSH and based on my experience with HBHC they're seeing me next week. Never recommend this place to family if they matter to you

The phone hold: Waited 3 and a half hours on hold to even…read moretalk to a person on the phone. I needed to schedule an appointment. What are the front desk staff or phone operators doing? It's miserable especially the HOURS WAIT on hold to EVEN talk to someone and then when it finally goes to the proper person, like the dental office which doesn't even have a separate dedicated number, you have to reach the operator first after a few hours on hold, and then you tell them you need to speak to the dental office so they transfer your call and it goes to the dental office phone line and then they never pick up. The in person experience at the front desk: Every time I go the front desk people are chatting about who is f*cking whom, where to party, where to eat, and they're actively ignoring the phone lines AND the people in front of them standing there 2 feet away waiting to check in or with questions. Literally standing in front of them. Then they look at you and pass you off to the other two people sitting there because they don't want to help you and then one of those two people doesn't want to help you check in or make an appointment, you're passed around like three day old fish right in front of them--they just want to gossip about who's dating or f*cking whom. The clinic experience with staff: When you go into their office, the guys and girls are UH-GAIN talking about who's f*cking whom on the 4th floor of the Halsted clinic or who wants to get with who or where's the party at or just plain gossip nonstop. OH MY GOD. Why are they obsessed with who is attractive, who is asking who on a date, who people are having sex with, who is getting some, who is not getting any, who can get who's number, who is loose, oh my God. Please. This is a clinic. Don't get me started on what they say about patients when you pass by them, they look at you up and down, scope you out, then they talk about your as* or junk, I know this because I went back to get a hat 15 seconds later and they were talking about my body. I'm a patient! Pure straight up classless. So the phone hold and the clinics. I mean, THEY'RE SPENDING SO MUCH TIME F*CKING AFTER WORK OR TALKING ABOUT WHO THEY WANT TO F*CK WHILE ON THE CLOCK AT WORK, THEY AREN'T DOING THEIR JOBS! Literally. GET THE PHONE LINES DOWN SO WE AREN'T ON HOLD FOR HOURS AND THEN TRANSFERRED AND NO ONE PICKS UP. FRONT DESK PEOPLE, PLEASE DO YOUR JOBS AND STOP GOSSIPING ALL DAY. These are patients, it's a health care clinic, not a bar or club.

They didn't get back to me until 5 days later, only for them to tell me my leg was fine. I went to an emergency room after hearing that and the doctors immediately determined my leg to be broken. The doctors at the ER told me that this was the worst missed diagnosis they had ever seen and that I needed to find a new primary care physician. I have lost 65 pounds since July 2024, and I am getting really close to my goal weight. The work started with a glucose monitor so I could get a sense of the types of foods I was eating and how they impacted my blood sugar. At the same time, they did thorough blood testing. Meredith took the time to go through every result, and I learned a lot about what was happening in my body and the supplements I needed to make improvements. Let me be clear, yes, they recommend supplements, but they don't overload you. The recommendations are reasonable and focused on your specific blood test results. When I started working with Meredith, I was also borderline type 2 diabetes, so she started me on a GLP-1 medication. I had been curious about these medicines but was also nervous about starting one because of potential side effects; however, when I say this medicine is life-changing, I really mean it. I can't remember a time in my life before starting on a GLP-1 when I was not thinking about or craving food. I would think about what I just ate, what I wanted to eat next, when the next time was to eat, and much more. It was exhausting. On the GLP-1 medicine, the food thoughts are gone. It is amazing. I also feel full quicker and don't have cravings like I used to. That being said, I can still enjoy all the foods I have loved; I just find I don't need the amount of food I used to have. I never thought I could feel satisfied with only a few bites of dessert, but it has happened. I would not be where I am today without Meredith's support. I see her once a month in person for my In Body weigh-in and an overall check-in. I can also text her when I have questions or need something between appointments. If needed, I could also make a telehealth appointment or quickly get an in-person appointment with her, but I haven't needed that. I add this because part of the service with Innovative Vitality is more personalized care. Every visit, she takes the time to walk me through my In Body results to be sure I understand the changes happening with my body. More than that, I feel like Meredith celebrates positive results with me. She really cares about my progression and how I am feeling. I usually come to every appointment with a list of questions and/or health concerns unrelated to my weight loss. Meredith makes the time to discuss everything on my list and provide me with treatments and recommendations. If, like me, you have tried a million diets that haven't worked and are beginning to feel hopeless, or if you just want to feel more in the driver's seat to lose weight, then I really encourage you to consider starting at Innovative Vitality. Meredith is excellent, but I am sure the other doctors there are great since it is a great medical practice overall.

Dr. Shashoua…read moreblessed us with the greatest gift by performing a Myomectomy to remove my massive uterine fibroids with no complications. The successful surgery has given me the chance to still fulfill my dream of being a Mother, which is the greatest gift one could ever give. Another Doctor in Wisconsin attempted to perform a Myomectomy and failed, telling me I would need a Hysterectomy because of the size of my uterine fibroids and the location of the fibroids. This Doctor also told me it wasn't worth getting a second opinion because nobody in the world would be able to remove my massive fibroids and was confident I would need a Hysterectomy. These massive fibroids were not only causing me infertility issues, but causing me major problems and living with them was unbearable. This Doctor was proven WRONG the day I walked into Dr. Shashoua's office to get a second opinion. Dr. Shashoua is brilliant and a gifted surgeon who performed what I was told was the IMPOSSIBLE. From the moment my husband and I met him he made us feel so comfortable and you can see how much he genuinely cares. He's so compassionate and explained everything in terms we understood. Dr. Shashoua is very knowledgeable about uterine fibroids and his confidence in his work made me relaxed and at ease going into surgery. He was attentive to my needs every step of the process and was there after surgery to check up on me. We traveled from Wisconsin to see Dr. Shashoua and his team treated us with excellent care. Traveling from out of state, the surgery and scheduling of the surgery was easy to navigate with the support of his team. This surgery was LIFE CHANGING and I'm recovering well. We're so blessed we found Dr. Shashoua and we would highly recommend him. If you're reading this and suffering from uterine fibroids and want to get your life back, do not hesitate for one moment, call and make an appointment. Dr. Shashoua is a true miracle worker.

Numerous appointments were made with family Doctor, OBGYN, and asthma specialist. They started running CT scans, chest x-rays, PAP, internal scans, mammogram, breathing and blood test. The diagnosis for November was Fibroids, low iron, and node in right breast. By the time I took my mammogram in December the node had disappeared. My OBGYN reached me a pamphlet, told me to educate myself on all of the possible procedures and technology available. My OBGYN told me to research online for a specialist and choose someone that was on the cutting edge of technology and leading their field. Then provide him with a name and if everything checked out he would give me a referral. This would give me the best chance and future to have children. The items listed above are what led me to a great doctor. I would like to start by saying I travelled across the state of Illinois to see Doctor Abraham Shashoua. By the time I met Dr. Shashoua I was in severe pain and panic. Dr. Shashoua ran his own test and found 7 fibroids. Two were inside the uterus and the rest were on the outside. Dr. Shashoua was able to give me the reassurance that I needed. In 18 years Dr. Shashoua has only had to do 1 unscheduled hysterectomy. Dr. Shashoua and his team performed the surgery within 3 hours and removed a little over 14 lbs in fibroids. *See attachment Dr. Shashoua is great at putting his patients at ease as well as fostering communication and development with his team. When it comes to going above and beyond, Dr. Shashoua did that for me. (After receiving my records he even ordered another chest x-ray to make sure everything was clear) I feel blessed to have him as my Doctor.
