I stopped here during a visit to Lueneburg for an afternoon meal before I caught a train home. Despite the rain outside, the tables (covered with umbrellas) had a good number of patrons, and the inside was also fairly busy. I chose this place, as it was on the Stint Markt and obviously popular.
I seated myself inside and spent a few minutes eyeing the menu. English speakers be warned, it is entirely in German. They also have their wifi password on the front page, which was very nice.
Once I finally flagged down a server, I ordered an aperol spritz and their teigtauschen appetizer. My drink came quickly and was very refreshing.
The meal soon followed. While everything looked and tasted great, I found the arrangement a little strange. It was difficult to dip the teigtauschen (basically large fried wontons filled with a tasty cheese and vegetable mixture) in the salsa, so I used the salsa on the homemade bread. This combo was pretty good, but the bread was so good itself that it was not truly necessary. The side salad was also very fresh and paired well with the simple creamy dressing on it. Like I said, I am not sure how people would split up this appetizer or pair what with what in the dish, but over all I found everything to taste great.
My entire visit took about 45 minutes, including a visit to the bathroom before I left (which was very clean). From what I saw of others tables and the menu, this place has large and small meals, homemade cakes, ice cream, and an extensive bar, meaning there is something for everyone. I would love to come back on a sunny evening to better enjoy the outdoor seating and Stint Markt atmosphere. read more
