Although not quite in the actual city of Tonder, Slotskro offers a very quaint atmosphere for its guests. There is a nice parking lot across the reception, so driving is preferable in this area. There is not much else in this area though. So if you are looking for more nightlife, pay to stay in the actual Tonder city.
We stayed in room 276 (I think), in the building right across from reception and upstairs. The room looked quite worn, but then the bathroom was very modern! The floors are creaky and there were many noises throughout our stay.
Internet is included, but it was very spotty and hard to stay connected. This was frustrating for my husband and I since we like to stay connected.
Breakfast was a more formal occasion. Sit down, with service. First they offer you yogurt with some kind of sweet topping and granola. Then usually an egg cooked with some meat or sea asparagus. Then tiered plates of cheese, hams, fruits and vegetables are served. They offer coffee and tea, juices and croissants. Doesn't look like much but its deceptively filling.
Overall a nice place, especially for the more senior crowds. But not worth it for the younger group. If you are taking the train into Tonder, use the 266 or 777 Sydtrafik bus towards Hojer, earliest bus is at the train station at 6:32 am (as of my review). read more
