Nick and Sabine Thompson are wonderful hosts for up to ten guests at their winery, L'Ameillaud. The two (!) kitchens are fully equipped. Nick will even gather waste wine stalks for you to use in the barbeque. There is a pool and acres of vineyards to view. Mt. Ventoux is always in view off to the east. Make sure you arrange to have Nick walk you through his wine making process and explain his specific terroir. This costs a few euros but is well worth it. The winery is close to Gigondas, Rosteau, carpentras, Bollene, Seguret, Vacqueyras .... I guess it is the center of the grenache wine world! Well worth the modest cost! read more
