SBS Enterprises Canada signed a contract with us for maintenance and repairs to our cottage, did no work at all, breached the contract and fraudulently kept our deposit.
Owners, Jonny Edwards and Samantha White provided service for our cottage property 3 times (junk removal, leaf raking, and tree removal), and all 3 jobs went well. Mr. Edward's effort to communicate and be responsive was also good. Based on those 3 experiences, we decided to hire Mr. Edwards for a project which included some repairs and improvements on the property. He sent a reasonable quote and answered all questions thoroughly. A contract was created and then signed by both parties, and he requested and received a deposit of $2518 (60%) reportedly for materials, supplies and deliveries for the 5-day project. The first indication that things were not right was when their proposed start date (early spring, 2022) came and went without any work or communication. After my several attempts to contact him for over a week (phone, text, and email), I was contacted asking for a little more time, which I provided. Three weeks passed, and with no contact, and I again had to attempt contact in numerous ways, finally receiving another request for delay with a promise the work would be before the end of the summer. I was told they were having numerous family/life problems and I tried to accommodate their unusual 'customer service', but held little hope at that point. There was no further contact, and at the end of the summer, I sent a letter formally ending the contract (no work had been done) and requesting a full refund of our deposit. No contact was made despite my numerous attempts. In fact, I discovered their website had been suspended, so email didn't work, and the phone numbers had been changed. I found out the new phone numbers and also used Messenger on their FB, but received no response.
This experience with SBS Enterprises Canada has been an unbelievable disappointment to my family and me. The two owners have no accountability or integrity. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere for your property maintenance and general contracting needs. read more
