We had to resurface our pool deck along with expanding the footprint, installed pavers to the courtyard and added turf to the front yard. We purchased our own plants but they dug all holes, planted and did all new drip systems. Kevin was incredibly helpful in that I had done AI designs of what I wanted and he created the plan to make it happen. Cheers to the amazing hard workers who endured terrible hot heat but continued to work with a smile. We offered water and food as I believe in taking care of those who help you. Plus they appreciated it. Lester was the supervisor of the team and got the job done. My only suggestion is for corp/management- Create a position Concierge liaison- a Individual who communicates to the home owners on all job sites in the morning by text of when to expect the crew and what part of the project is going to be worked on. First, I live and work minutes away from my daughter, son in law, and grandchildren, and my residence was not questioned when you accepted my money without having met me in person. The sunken, unleveled area near the patio was sunken prior to the children playing there with water, which was brought to your attention immediately by me, and remains sunken. The children were playing on the artificial turf after installation, not during, and also when your crews would come for repairs, always unannounced, whenever they could fit in the time, because new business was prioritized first, according to your employees. My daughter would move toys, including their inflatable pool which was destroyed by cement thrown into it by your workers. The ineffective drainage by the patio was replaced, without a change order, by the structurally impaired lateral drain after I simply asked your professional if it was a possibility. You did us no favor by installing additional drainage that you stated "will help significantly during the winter season", but which we never wanted, never asked for, never saw a change order for, and I supposedly refused to pay for, which is false and libelous. The poorly placed drain at the back of the wall that you speak of was never meant to be located there and was removed because it didn't connect to any discharge or overflow line. The artificial turf, with holes cut in it to fit drain covers in that location, was laid back down and patched up. I cannot accept a repair method that leaves brand new artificial turf with a patched or piece meal finish, particularly to fix an error made by your team. One item I have complained about since the beginning is the safety concerns with the unfastened down and lifting turf which has never been addressed by anyone on your team. And you're saying this is the best you can do.

So, when it came to replastering an existing 'model home' pool albeit a modest pool (originally built by Nevada Pools) that was deteriorating, I called Distinctive. All in all, I figured it to be a straight forward job as the footprint would be staying the same. Owner Edgar Herrera impressed me as knowledgeable and well equipped. Upon his recommendation, I also decided to replace the waterline tile. I was so confident in him that I did not feel the need to even stay in town to oversee the process. For this job, I selected a quartz product (new to me) in Cappuccino, and I was excited for the change to come. Throughout the process, however, I felt as though my job was just too small and not a priority. In fact, I know that Distinctive was performing a large scale new build near me as more than once, I was told that a rep would swing by after visiting the other site. Had my son not been home when my pool was initially filled (we did this twice), it would have overflowed into the backyard. While Edgar did respond to my concerns, I feel that had he and his team been more proactive I would not have needed to shoot off trouble calls after hours. My main concern involved the quartz material as rendered (which I was viewing as cell phone photos from my son). While Edgar did initially tell me that the pool needed to be 'swept' after being filled with water, I interpreted that to mean the pool needed to be cleaned to establish the correct water quality and PH. It had not occurred to me that the plastering process was not yet completed?! I have never had a pool contractor hand off a job that was not actually done and ready for swimmers. Further, Edgar knew that I had not yet hired a new pool tech. Long story short, I have a distinctive pool all right (see photos). I refuse to believe that the resulting mottling, uneven distribution of quartz and staining in the body of the pool are my fault. To his credit, Edgar did have his plaster sub, Rainbow Pool Plastering, return to perform an acid wash on the pool, but it really is no better and certainly does not reflect the nearly $30K spent on it. I am still waiting on the pool accessory kit $500. The only reason this is not a 1-Star Review is because Edgar is a nice guy and I do not believe this was his desired outcome either. To anyone considering a quartz product, I highly suggest you do your homework first. The web is full of similar stories to my own. ~ Tammy

Getting our yard completed was a big investment from our side, and while Everything Turf Pros were not the cheapest option, we later found out that hiring cheaper, unlicensed contractors can only lead to disaster. Some other turf companies are not licensed for full landscaping and can only legally install turf. We had a large tree that we needed removed, and in addition we wanted our yard to feature some hardscaping and pavers, so we elected to go with them, and our yard looks incredible. If you are looking for a contractor to level up your space, I highly recommend them.

I recommend thoroughly reviewing state specific laws and regulations regarding residential contracts and contractors, taking time to read ALL the fine print in their contract, and doing a thorough background check on the company and it's ownership, before deciding if you want to work with them. I found them to be very unreasonable, unprofessional, argumentative, refusing to take the time to listen, and consistently coming up with excuses as to why they wouldn't fix their mistakes. Instead of focusing on resolution, they keep escalating matters, and making more and more poor choices - even trying to intimidate me to remove truthful reviews about their bad faith business practices, terrible materials and products, and poor workmanship. Perhaps learn about contract law, practice professionalism, and conflict resolution, instead of obsessing about "reviews." This has been going on for several months, and I have been more than patient with them. I had to file several complaints with the NSCB and others, and more are to follow. Every contractor that came into our yard was knowledgeable, hardworking, and polite. They were available to answer any questions and made sure they cleaned up before they left. We were told that the pool would be completed in 120 days and it was, even with delays because of weather. Once construction started we dealt with Teri, the scheduling manager, and Jon the supervisor who oversaw the construction of the pool and kept us informed of the process from start to finish. Teri is a gem; she schedules all the workers and lets you know when they will be in your yard. She is there to answer any and all questions. Jon is the person that makes everything work. He comes after each step of the pool construction is done and frequently visits to make sure you are up to speed on the process. His job does not end once the pool is complete he continues to visit and make sure you understand the operation and your responsibility as a pool owner. Jon explains everything in detail. A word of caution, whether you use Vintage or another company, make sure before signing the contract that in the plan design that all inspection codes are met or will need to meet in order to pass final inspection. You will then know if you will have additional financial responsibility. Finally as a pool buyer please understand that all the pool builders in the valley are using the same contractors so delays because of weather etc, are inevitable. Be patient. Gary, Teri,and Jon do their best to make sure everything is done in a timely fashion. If you want a great pool at a reasonable price, quality construction, and people who care about you as a client you can not go wrong with Vintage, a class operation.
