I was…read moreprepared to order a Bratwurstsemmel, but a patron recommended I try the joint's specialty - the Bazibox, which is kind of a bowl concept with several Schweinebraten, Kartoffelknodeln (potato dumplings) and Blaukraut (sweet n sour purple kraut). The meat was tender and smoky, a little like pulled pork but chunkier and braised with a spicy beer sauce. The Knodeln and Kraut were marinating in the same stuff of course, and were just incredible. This is a take-away joint, but it's served in a Chinese food box so you can eat on the go or just stand right there and chow. Perhaps best of all, the chef is a nice guy, a refreshing change from the typical indifference one encounters from the businesses in this part of town.
