Walgreen's #2 "I can send the electronic copy in 24-48 hours but I can't guarantee that you'll get it." And UPS "We don't do that here" even though the website says it does. The lighting was horrible and I was totally dissatisfied with the end result. So, I decided to look for a professional studio that could do my photo justice. Studio 2000 had excellent overall reviews and so I decided to give them a try. When I arrived at their location the door was locked. My heart sank because I thought they were closed. As I was turning to leave, the door buzzed and I pulled on it with a huge sigh of relief. I made sure I had made it there before their 7 PM closing time. The photographer asked me what I needed and I told him 2 US passport photos. He ushered me into the studio and had me sit on a little black stool. He advised me of how to pose and I followed his instructions. Within minutes he captured 2 shots and asked me to choose the one I preferred. He then printed them out and handed them to me in a lovely sleeve. I was in and out in around 10-15 minutes. If you're looking for professionals who can get the job done at a reasonable price, Studio 2000 should definitely be your go-to!

When I mentioned I wanted to take photos on the National Mall, she let me know I needed to apply for and receive a permit from the National Park Service (we called it our donation fee to keep from getting bitter with NPS). It took longer than expected to get from one end of DC to another due to an unexpected road closure (dignitary motorcade), so we were running about an hour late. I was so grateful Erin was willing to wait for our arrival on a day that is best described as "unseasonably cold". Erin kept the initial portion of the photo shoot moving as she knew those under 7 years old and over 70 years old were expiring fast in the cold weather. She even was able to coax a smile out of Alexandra (my niece) who at 7 months old believes in "stranger danger." My favorite part of the photo shoot was the time my husband and I got to spend "just us" with Erin as it felt fun (and we got to kiss a lot). The photos turned out amazingly beautiful and I loved her creative shots! Erin knew just where to take us on an overcast day! Erin even had a blueberry pie on hand for Pi Day. Had we been aware of this, we would have booked our session for a later date as Covid has caused us to be under-employed and finances are tight. We explained this but it fell upon deaf ears. One would have thought that as a local business that they would extend the offer by a week or two. It would also be good practice to inform your clientele what will be happening during their visit with you. Our experience was more of a come here, sit there, go there. We had no idea what was coming next. It should also not be assumed that a client knows exactly what shot is being used in a yearbook. Explaining which shots are being used would have been really helpful and made the encounter less contentious. And, when your sales rep pulls up a picture and starts gushing over how beautiful your child is, please actually pull up the picture of my child, the actual child in the room with you, and not someone else's child. We were simply a number to them. The photographer was wonderful and captured beautiful shots. While it was not a pleasant experience (except with the photographer), we are hopeful that the pictures will be good. I hope that they make changes to improve the customer experience.
