They were out of Fresh rolls so the waitress suggested Thai calamari appetizer which was lightly friend and crispy without being greasy. I had the Drunken Noodles as an entree and they were delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. I'll definitely eat here again next time I'm in town. read more

Love this Thai food! after 3-4 visits I've left each time delighted with the unique menu, amazing flavors. I usually complain about too much salt with Asian food, never here. My boyfriend and I love Sawasdee, and have recommended it to many friends. We used to live in Danvers, and we would eat there or order takeout almost every week. Since moving, we still pick up takeout or meet there after work at least once a month. We love their crab rangoon, (the dipping sauce is fantastic) beef satay, mango fried rice, delight mango chicken, mango curry and the tiramisu, on the rare occasion that we have room for it. Wine prices are very reasonable, wait staff is very attentive, and the ingredients are always fresh. As first-time homebuyers, we are very careful where we spend our money, and refuse to waste it on mediocre restaurants; we know we won't be disappointed when we go to Sawasdee. read more

This place is great! Definitely the tastiest Thai restaurant on the North Shore...and there aren't that many to chose from up here. The Massaman beef is a favorite and the consistency was just right - not too watery and not too thick. They use just the right amount of fish sauce which always gives a nice sweet flavor to the dish. 3.5 stars the food didn't taste bad but was really salty. later that night i was really dehydrated. the portions were good. the restaurant has a good, clean design to it. it's not huge but it's big enough for the crowd they get. they have a pretty diversified menu. the drunken chicken was around $11 or 12. the service wasn't bad. they weren't rude but they could use a little more training but it was bad. i would have given it 4 stars but the saltiness was a little to severe for me. read more

Popped in for take out; soup, salad and an appetizer. I decided to sit at the bar and ordered a Thai beer. I asked the waitress what type of beer it was, and she told me "dark beer, like root beer". I read the label and saw it was a lager, so I went ahead and ordered it. It was a lager. Light and golden. Not sure what the hell she was talking about. I waited at least 30 minutes, and there were only two other patrons in the restaraunt. It seemed to be taking a painfully long amount of time. The roti and curry appetizer, was just some greasy triangles and a side of coconut curry, with mainly potatoes and carrots, and two, maybe 3 pieces of chicken. The papaya salad was too spicy and lacking something, vinegar, maybe lime? It was served haphazardly, with large, whole peanuts and no finesse. The dishes here have good flavor however the dishes are very greasy. On a recent visit we had rice and noodle dishes. The dishes shimmered with grease when served and when we were done the plates all had droplets and puddles of grease. When dishes have great flavors they don't need so much fat. read more

This place was great. We were sat right away and helped right away. Everything we ate tasted FRESH! We had the crab Rangoon that came with a pineapple sauce. It was delish and the crab meat was good. We were visiting the area from.90 minutes away. Such a pleasant experience. The restaurant is beautifully appointed. The venue is very clean. These two facts put our party of eight immediately at ease. The food was excellent. We had three appetizers. Scallion pancakes...crispy and NOT greasy. Steamed dumplings....delicious...and fried tofu. The Tofu came with the best peanut sauce I have ever tasted...a party in my mouth. I got the drunken noodles. I was so busy eating I did not pay much attention to what the others is my party ordered. Only empty plates went back to the kitchen at the end of our meal. The service was excellent. There was plenty of off street parking. I consider myself a Thai food consumer. I try Thai on a pretty regular basis. This is one of the best Thai Restaurants I have ever been to. went there for dinner 11/4/11. Pad thai was greasy and the chicken was dry and stringy. My wife ordered stir fry with tofu and veggies, the tofu was deep fried, not stir fried. They acted upset that they had to make it right. All the great reviews made me want to go, I was dissapointed . read more

Got take out from there last night and as always it was delicious. Food is always fresh and yummy. Sit down is even better! Nice and clean dining room and bathrooms I do, however, take off 2 stars for the following: 1. when you do takeout, it's never EVER ready in 15 minutes, no matter what they tell you 2. when you do takeout, they never EVER remember to include the extra side of peanut sauce you asked and paid for. Picked up some Thai to eat while watching the Bruins playoff game, and loved not only the menu but the quality of the food. The menu is fantastic. They have a wide variety of choices. I went with the mango beef Thai fried rice and my friend got the duck dish. Big portions. I had left-overs later in the night. The food tasted great- no complaints! And the prices were really good for the amount of food you got. I did have trouble with their online ordering system so I ended up calling in and it took a few tries to get anyone to answer, but otherwise, it was smooth and done in the time they said it'd be ready. I've had slightly better Thai food before (Thai Sweet Basil in Andover and a few places in Boston, for example), but this place is very good and I've been 7 or 8 times so far. I like this place. We came always come here for a late lunch and the place is still open even at 3PM. The service is good and that could be because the place is empty at 3PM in the afternoon. Today we had an early dinner at a Thai place near Danvers, called Sawasdee Danvers. The place seemed very popular in that area; it was almost full for the entire time we were there. The place is not that big, but was clean, nicely decorated and very well organized. We ordered Roti and Curry for appetizer, which was a fried thai pancake served with chicken in a massaman curry sauce. Even though the crispy fried pancake was a bit greasy, but it was tasty and the massaman curry sauce was delicious. For entree we ordered Chicken Red Curry and Larb Gai. Chicken red curry was quite good; the balance of spicy and sweet was perfect. At most Thai restaurants we find that the curry flavor is dominated by the coconut milk and you can smell the coconut milk too. But here the red curry and the massaman curry were very very tasty! Larb Gai is a hot and spicy. traditional Thai dish made of minced chicken with red onions, scallions, mint leaves and ground toasted rice in spicy homemade lime sauce which is served with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and sticky rice. The dish itself was not served hot, but its kind of a warm dish and the server did adequately inform me about that, but I still decied to go with it. After first bite I did not like it, yet I reached for a 2nd bite; the more I ate the more I liked its flavor. It's an awesome preparation, very tasty , authentic Thai dish; but this is definitely not for someone who don't prefer experimenting with different kinds of food. By the end of main course we were full, but the food was so good that we wanted to try the dessert as well. We ordered fried ice cream and believe me it was the best fried ice cream I have had so far. Overall we had a good experience at Sawasdee and we will be revisiting this place again. read more

By far my favorite Thai food restaurant. The food is always amazing no matter what you order. They bring out your food very quickly so you are never waiting very long. I noticed they don't have some of the same things on the lunch menu that they do on the dinner menu which is a bummer (pad se ew or the summer rolls for example). And be careful what you order for takeout because anything with breaded chicken isn't as good as when you eat it in the restaurant. I can't explain it... you just need to experience it for yourself. The Honey Sesame Chicken is my favorite plate there, but only when i get it sit-down. Take-out also has smaller portions than if you eat at the actual restaurant. Tom ka soup is amazinggg and they offer plenty of vegetarian options. The staff is very friendly and i recommend a sit-down rather than take out. Atmosphere is nice too. read more

This a very cute location. The service was fine; not warm, but adequate. The pad thai tasted good, but was very sweet. Too sweet in my opinion. My husband liked the pork gyoza and the basil chicken. I have to eat gluten free, so didn't try the gyoza of course, and would have had the basil chicken, but the server didn't come back, so we could not ask if the brown sauce had soy sauce in it. The sticky rice was sticky, but not sweet like we have enjoyed at Green Papaya in Waltham. This was fine for lunch on the way to Costco in Danvers, but we don't need to drive out of our way to be back. read more
