Factory outlets are just that: outlets for end of line and range sell offs after the start of the new season. You're never going to buy the creme de la creme cutting edge at Bicester, unless you come to somewhere that fashions don't really change. Sure Gieves will change colours and some styles year on year, but the cuts are the same and the fit is reliable. Suits, trousers, ties, shirts? This is THE place to come within a 30-mile radius. The staff are excellent. The in-house alterations are perfect and only take a few days. The clothes are all top class and the relaxed confidence that comes from wearing decent tailoring, even in jeans, is unbeatable.

In the wonderful world of Bicester, you don't have to be related to the Royal Family to share in this sort of fashion. For those of you not acquainted with Thomas Pink (and nor was I before living in Oxford), it specialises in shirts, ties, and knitwear, with all the associated items such as cufflinks and posh sports shirts. With respect to shirts, it's a little like Jaeger in that it caters from casual to posh, except here posh is full on 'evening shirt' probably costing around £250 SRP (although cheaper in this branch!). Casual shirts start at around £45 SRP, although most cost more. Again, in this bargainous branch you can sometimes pick them up for as little as £25. And really, if you can get a top-notch shirt to show-off, you might as well! They even do men's boxers if you really want to show off, but be prepared for comments (positive and negative) when you have 'PINK' emblazoned across your waist. And, let's face it, if you're wearing smart clothes from here, your boxers probably won't be sticking a mile over the top of your trousers anyway.
