We are from Utica/Rome area and found this place on Yelp. First of all it was packed with people which is always a good sign, everyone of staff we came in contact with were friendly and wished us to have a good week, one young lady even wished us a Happy Halloween which happens to be one of my favorite holidays. Our waitress was sweet and makes a yummy cup of hot chocolate! The whip cream on my Hot Coco was fresh and tasted home made. I strayed from my usual behavior of not trying new items and had the apple cider waffles which were delicious. I had a side of bacon and it was cooked crispy Just the way it should be. Came in for lunch. Chicken salad on croissant with a side or cup of soup for $8.79. I asked if I could get it over lettuce instead of croissant. Server says I don't know what they r gonna charge you. Which I understood there would be an upcharge. I get the bill. Chicken salad over a small bed of lettuce was now full price at 9,59 and I was charged fully for the cup of soup. Bill is 14.33 w tax. So I gave up a croissant, chips and my side to be charged fully for a small dinner salad and a tiny scoop of chicken Salad buried underneath. Even the server questioned its existence. I would have never ordered soup separately had it not already come with the special. I inquired about the full price salad that wasn't even full sized and a separate charge for soup. She responded, you got a full size salad. Which wasn't even full sized. Very disappointed. I had high hopes going into this place I really did but i was unfortunately disappointed... Not so much because of the food it was more or less because of the service and the establishment itself. If you know me I don't like giving negative reviews out but this one has little of both. So when we walked in we waited a moment then were advised to sit where we please ok that's cool but when we found the only open booth available it was sticky and sorta dirty but we didn't complain because we thought maybe this place is sort of divey and will deal. Like 40 minutes later our food arrived and it was hot the eggs Benedict was phenomenal both mine and hers it was made exactly how I like. the eggs were cooked perfect and the sausage wasn't over cooked and it seemed to not come out of a freezer but I may be wrong about that. The French toast is a different story for one there was a hair literally cooked right into it which was extremely gross it was long and stuck right into our meal, we decided to just eat around it and not rock the boat. The waitress comes back to ask us how we were enjoying everything we said fine and my fiancé asked for a frapachino and the waitress said I'll be back in a minute .... Needless to say that never arrived but our check did it was this Greasy piece of paper, again we chose to just forget it so we paid our bill and left. This restaurant wouldn't be bad if it had somewhat better customer care possibly more waitresses so I guess they don't have to deal with 3 tables each because realistically that's all she had. Solid breakfast. Unbelievably fast service and we had a party of 5. Great spot if traveling....very busy, but seem to handle it perfectly.

Yesterday my daughter and I went to Savory's Bakery for brunch. We'll definitely visit again. We ordered homemade corned beef hash, but it was a hard decision to make because there were so many choices. There was vegetable quiche, Belgian waffle either with strawberries or with a Hawaiian twist that included pineapple, banana and macademia nuts. Corned beef hash scramble, Country Scramble that included all sorts of good things; breakfast wraps and omelets abounded. The various selections were written in chalk on several blackboards scattered around the room. All sorts of coffee drinks were also available too. Oh, and huge homemade cinnamon buns and deep dish pies that looked to be about two inches in depth. My mouth is watering again... I guess I got a bit side tracked there. Anyway, our hash was terrific. Large chunks of tasty beef mixed with homefries. We could have had it with hash browns if we wanted. We topped the hash with eggsm and the combination was out of this world. Homemade toast was included too. I was given two thick slices of cinnamon toast and she had rye toast that was also homemade. In the summer, they use vegetables from their own garden in back of the restaurant in their meals. I definitely recommend Savory's. They are open for breakfast and lunch every day, but on Sunday they close at 1:30. It's also price friendly- we spent one third of what we did the Sunday before at 31 Club, and the food was much, much better. I'd say the food is on a par with Betty's. read more

This is our go to breakfast spot since moving to the south towns this past spring. Everything including the bread for toast is homemade and delicious! The corned beef is the best I've had from a restaurant. Also they have options like a veggie egg white omelette for when you don't feel up to something sinful like their seasonally stuffed French toast. It is suggested that if you are looking for a Sunday morning breakfast that you get there before 9 or you can expect to wait because everyone knows how fantastic the food is! Not a huge place but luckily there was plenty of space when my party of five showed up. We were greeted warmly and sat down to some great breakfast food. They had several breakfast specials in their chalkboard that all looked enticing. I had the Poco Loco scramble with chorizo, peppers, onions, jack cheese, potatoes and jalapeños. It was huge and I can't believe I ate the whole thing especially when it came with two sizable pieces of fennel rye toast which tasted like they were baked in house. I read about this place in the paper and wanted to try it. I have to say I wasn't that impressed. The waitress was nice enough but the other staff acted like they didn't want to be there. I had the eggs Benedict with hash browns. The hash browns were fantastic and I'd go back just for the coffee. My eggs were a little over cooked and the hollandaise didn't have any flavor. Used to be one of my favorites. Last two time I ate there nothing but problems. My grand daughter ordered chocolate milk when it came it was spoiled. They didn't even apologize. Hands down, the best place in Hamburg to get breakfast. There is always a long list of specials, and have not been disappointed yet. Having been in Savory's for breakfast I can tell you 2 things. 1) The food and coffee and very good. Delicious. 2) It is a guarantee that you will have bad service... After thinking we were striking out on our luck, we tried again this weekend and received the same, poor experience. After waiting for the check for over 15 minutes I got up to ask a different waitress at the counter if she could cash me out and I was addressed with attitude, as if I was inconveniencing her. Savory is a hidden gem. What drew us to Savory was the variety of breakfast "benedict" dishes. We arrived at savory and it was packed with customers. There was not a table for 5 available, but they immediately sat us at two separate tables to accommodate our needs. The wait staff could not have been better. Now for the food. Someone took a very long time to write all of the specials on two reclaimed school chalkboards, and that was a very nice touch. The food was absolutely exceptional. The food was hot and delicious. There is a huge variety of selections. We returned a couple days later to try the lunch fare. We were again not disappointed. The house made mushroom soup was the best I have ever had. Many dishes reflect local WNY cuisine. If you are looking for delicious local food with a ton of variety, Savory is a great choice. WOW! This is the BEST place for breakfast in Hamburg! I am disabled with a service dog. Right from when I entered, the server greeted me with respect and compassion! There were three of us and ALL three of our meals were fantastic. My mother's over easy eggs were perfectly white with perfectly cooked yolks. My Aunt's scrambled eggs were golden yellow and fluffy! I ordered the cream cheese stuffed french toast with berry compost and it was out of this world! More importantly, the service was EXCELLENT! I don't write many reviews on-line because sadly it's not often I have a great experience anywhere. So, let me tell you...the is a 5 star restaurant and I only wish I had went there before this! We stopped at Savory's on our way through the Homberg area. I must say it lives up to it's name. The spicy pepper soup was very flavorful and the open-face turkey sandwich "tasted like Thanksgiving." We both had a piece of the apple pie, which I consider among the best I've ever eaten.
