Sorry but I cannot give them more than one star! Good impression when you walk in! But big disappointment afterwards. Takes forever to get waiter to notice you are there to eat. And a drink would be welcome as soon as you sit down! The food obviously comes out of cans and warmed up by some short order cook who doesn't even bother to check if it's hot enough on top of being served on cold plates! I don't like the attitude of the people who works here. No customer service. They let us in and took our orders then after 8 mins they said our orders are not enough and we need to add more. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!! I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!!!! Additional comments.. First of all, it was not a busy evening. We came to your restaurant around 5:30. IT WAS NOT BUSY AT ALL!!! There were only about 4 to 5 tables that were seated. Furthermore, there were 6 people and NOT 4, as mentioned by you, that were already ordered. The other 3 who is my uncle who happens to have a heart surgery cannot eat unhealthy food. The other 2 kids, age 7 and a 9 month old baby, obviously cannot order. And just so you know, we ordered various dishes and was going to order dessert too. So I suggest that you treat your customers with respect and stop lying just to make your restaurant look good. Really friendly staff. Good food but service can be a little slow if crowded. I've been there twice and will go back.

We have been going here for around a year and the food has always been great. We recently ordered the Thai soup and pad Thai, and when we got the food home, we got vegetarian instead of chicken. The owner went above and beyond and even delivered the right order, plus a great desert! That is what I call great customer service. We were craving Thai food so decided to give this place a try. The chief came out to greet us and made some recommendations for other dishes. We went with the Shrimp Pad Thai, Thai Basil beef, Tamarind Fish, and cream cheese wantons. All the food was excellent - just the right combination of spice and flavor. The service was a bit slower than I'd have excepted especially considering they were not many people there due to construction going on. Looks like the single wait staff person is also the host, bartender, and helps in the kitchen. I can easily overlook the slowish service given that the food was as tasty as it was. Can't wait to go back and sample more of their cooking. The ambiance was nice and they even have throw pillows in the booths. Glad we decided to give this place a try. My new go-to Thai restaurant. I've eaten Thai from SD to SF. I think this is the best for not an extravagant restaurant. You can go here any time with reasonable prices and some great flavors. Savory Thai never dissapoints! The Panang Curry is my favorite Curry so far, but everything I've ordered has been out of this world. The Thom Kha soup is always delicious. I just tried the Larb this weekend and loved it. A great balance of fresh herbs, onion and minced chicken. I've had the Pad Thai, pineapple fried rice with generous sized shrimp, cashew chicken, Praj King and several of their appetizers. The service is very good, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing and the food is always consistant. I've taken several friends there and all have been very impressed. read more

I used to go to thai pasta on my lunch break because it was close and cheap. When they closed down, I decided to give this place a try and was not disappointed. The lunch special portion is a little small but very satisfying. I usually get my food to go and was very happy to see that there was little difference in the food when ordering in or take out. Friends and I go to this place several times per month. Always at lunch time. The best we've found so far in North County. The service is prompt and friendly. Often the owner, Pa, takes our order and she often comes to chat with us. She loves to hear our opinions on the food and will alter any dish to taste. The place has a slightly upscale ambiance but casual dress is totally OK and the prices on the lunch menu are great. But it is the food that keeps us coming back. It is always good to excellent and so very fresh and flavorful. The only dish I don't like here is the Pad Thai and that is because they make it with fish sauce in the sauce and I just don't like fish oil/sauce personaly. Pa says she will make the Pad Thai for me without the fish oil in the sauce. My favorites from the lunch menu: Sweet Basil or the Hot Basil ( I don't know what the "sweet" or the "hot" refer to but it isn't the taste or spice level) with chicken, but all the other dishes are very good too. read more

I am very picky about my Thai food, and this is my favorite place in North County. My best friend and I come here about once a week because the food is amazing! I have tried most of the appetizers and quite a few of the entrées, and we always finish off with the delicious mango sticky rice. I didn't even bother wasting my money at this establishment. We walked in and the man at the front seemed to have an attitude. When I told him how many needs to be seated he just pointed in the direction of a woman who alarm greeted us with a very unfriendly face. She grabbed some napkins and without eye contact said this way. And seated us at a table. I tried to ask for a high chair but before I could even say a word she walked away. Who seats a family with a toddler and doesn't ask if a high chair or booster is needed?!?! The restaurant was quite empty. Literally one other party of two in the whole place. So I was very surprised that no one came to ask us if we wanted drinks for about 10 minutes!! Then after waiting the man from the front walked over and says. "You ready?" I tell him, we haven't ordered drinks yet and he makes hand gestures to tell me to speed things up and says, "that's why I'm here, so you can order..." okay smart a**!!! We decided to leave after that.... and to top it off as we were walking out he continued to talk saying "all I asked is for your order.." worst service ever!!! read more

Not bad, but not great. Appetizers were better than the main courses, which were overly salted and lacked flavor. I've been drinking lots of water since I got home because of all the salt. I would concur with the other 3-star reviews. The best thing we ordered was the fresh rolls- those were excellent. Nice interior, but the music was so cheesy it was distracting. The guy in charge was nice to us, but rude to a waiter he seemed to be training in - awkward. The food was more expensive than other comparable Thai places. So we tried it here once, since it is very close to where we live. Not bad. However, next time we want Thai food, we'll make the drive to Ocean Thai. Stopped by a couple of weeks ago to grab soup for my son who'd been at home battling a bad bug for a couple of days. This was my first visit and I made the mistake of not checking the hours online before going. Though closed, they opened a little early and welcomed me in so that I could come in out of the cold and place my order to go. That level of service is a bit rare in our area. The restaurant looked very clean, a big deal for me, with a warm tone to the decor. It definitely looks worthy of date night. The gentleman who assisted me answered questions, made suggestions, checked in on me while I waited and seemed genuinely hopeful that the meal would help comfort my sick kid. It did! The food was fantastic. Not only did I enjoy everything, but the smells alone sparked my son's appetite and he reported the next day that he felt the Tom Kha (amazing- definitely ordering this again soon) and Wonton Soup got him over the hump of his horrible cold. read more

I was amazed by the stylish decor as I entered Savory Thai restaurant. It was fresh, beautiful, and comfortable and made me Want to stay. The staff was friendly. We ordered red curry with chicken and rice, and fresh spring rolls with tofu and a delicious peanut sauce. When I took my first taste of the red curry I felt like I was back in Thailand on my vacation. The chef captured the flavor of Thailand in this curry sauce!! I recommend this restaurant. Delicous food, clean and very friendly service. We ordered the chef recommendation that was a beef stew and the spicy fried rice with shrimp. for an appetizer we ordered the spring rolls. The beef in the stew was so tender that it melted in our mouths, the flavor was superb. The fried rice was spectacular, and the spring rolls were nice and crispy. We will be back again for sure. We were hoping to fully enjoy it, and it just didn't meet our expectations. The pot sticker that came with lunch was dry and tasted recooked. I had hoped to order curry, but all of their curry dishes are spicy and can't be spiced to order (no 1-5 option like most places). I had Pad-Thai and it was clumped together and pretty overpowering.
