I went in for an appointment today and a deep cleaning wasn't covered by insurance. First off, the receptionists were whispering about this and said the hygienist would discuss (yes I heard that) So as I'm sitting down for the appointment, the hygienist walks in and asks if the receptionist discussed the deep cleaning with me. No they did not. She then shoves a piece of paper in my face some waiver, saying that without this cleaning, there is no therapeutic benefit to doing the cleaning, and if I don't sign it, they won't do the cleaning. I'm not disputing that it may be necessary, but what a terrible way to handle a situation. That all could've been discussed ahead of time in a much different way. There was a complete lack of compassion, empathy, and care and how it was handled and I'm not going back there ever again. I'm also pulling my kids from their practice also. read more

It's so unfortunate that the office staff is the way they are because the dentist and hygienists are great. The did not know how to bill my insurance correctly and said they were doing me a "courtesy" by working with my insurance. They are super nice until there is an issue that needs to be worked through. Then they don't want anything to do with you as a patient. I don't need to feel like doing business with someone is a favor to me. read more

Saving smiles dentistry maybe good for General cleaning, but it is not good for anything challenging, they recommended patients do crowns to other dentistry, they started do crowns stuff recently, charged patients much more money than insurance allowed, and skills for crowns veneers stuff is not good per my friends bad experience. read more

I had a crown approximately 15 months ago placed by Saving Smiles. I have not been able to chew on that tooth since it was placed. It has been readjusted and was told last week by Saving Smiles that based on the xray there was an infection and I needed a root canal. The endodontis took another xay and there is no sign of infectionand no root canal needed. I wish I had never gotten the crown and question whether it was required in the first place. I will be switching dentists asap as they have not been able to relieve the pain caused by the crown they placed. I would not recommend for any type of dental work that involves a crown or reading an xray. read more

This place is fantastic. Having moved to Fargo four years ago, I had no idea how I was going to find a quality dentist. Because I didn't have dental insurance at the time, I found Saving Smiles online and saw that they offered a payment plan that worked for me. Not only did they provide me with a payment option I was able to manage, they provided excellent service and care. I brought my daughter here recently for a check-up and after her appointment, she told me she LOVED the dentist, and didn't even mind having to go back to get her cavities filled. Today I asked her if she still loved the dentist after having her fillings, and she said YES! Everyone is so friendly and it was so cute hearing Dr. Johnson (while I was in the waiting room), tell my daughter, "You did a great job!!!" I would recommend Saving Smiles to anyone. I am not a huge fan of going to the dentist, so it says a lot if I think someone did a great job. I had never been to Saving Smiles until recently, but I am glad I decided to become a new patient. Nicki did the best job I have ever had on my cleaning, and Dr. Johnson did an expert job filling 3 cavities within an hour, painlessly. He did great work on my two front teeth, and I have already received compliments that I look much better than before. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist in Fargo. read more

My experience here was terrible. I was told I had two cavities. So I went in another day for my fillings. Dr. Johnson was not very welcoming and just seemed kind of rude. Also during my filling he was being careless and the drill cut through the inside of my cheek. He said it was because I moved, but I only flinched after I felt him cut my cheek open! Now months later the two teeth he apparently needed to fix hurt when they didn't even in the first place! DR JOHNSON IS A TOTAL SCAM. So disappointed that I ever wasted my time here! I've never had to wait past the scheduled time of my appointment, Carrie is always in a good mood (even though she teases me about flossing only for the two weeks prior to my appointment) and Dr. Johnson advised me to have my wisdom teeth removed after years of asking my previous dentist because of crowding in my lower teeth. I'm not normally the type to review a dental office. Let's be honest; I use Yelp primarily for restaurants and maybe hotels. I recently switched to Dr. Johnson after seeing the same dentist my entire life. I am a professional grinder and TMJ thinks we're friends. My teeth are highly sensitive and I finally reached my breaking point. Dr. Johnson and his staff gave me both an oral rinse and prescription strength toothpaste to try. My sensitivity is still there, but it's not anywhere near as bad as it was. I can drink ice water without wanting to scream! Hot soup no longer makes me want to cry! This place was very welcoming to me even though I was a new patient. I don't like going to the dentist but I wasn't nervous because of the nice staff. The care I got was fantastic and they even called me the day after getting a filling to make sure everything was going well. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a dentist! read more
