Always on the hunt for delicious baked goods, we stopped in here to a delightful Mexican bakery and…read morebought two items for.....wait for it......$3!!! Where in Tahoe can you find fresh baked goods for $3? The gentleman inside was very nice too. We walked over from our hotel. Parking didn't seem to be a problem. I cut into the concha and it is light and not too sweet at all. And, not dry! Haven't bitten into the cookie yet because it's for the grandchild. They have a big variety of baked goods so please support this local business. Nice and clean inside too!

Pan Dulce! Yes please. Lake Tahoe Ameca Bakery bakes up some darn delicious Mexican pastries…read more I was in South Lake Tahoe, driving about being a tourist. I spotted the shopfront and its signage while driving down Lake Tahoe Blvd. That word "bakery"caught my sweet tooth's attention and off I go. The bakery is unassuming, and no frills. The gentleman at the counter was a man of few words. Kind and earnest. The various pan dulce sat so pretty within the glass cabinets. But there was no pricing. They had the pan dulce names clearly labeled though. Considering it was early afternoon, some items were scarce. But they still had enough variety to satisfy my sweet tooth. I bought some orejas (don't you dare say palmiers), polvorones (they're gorgeous tri colored happy looking butter cookies), conchas (soft bready center with sweet sugary, crisp top goodness), and butter cookies topped with shredded coconut. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, and looked so cheerful. It's a true panaderia where you take a tray and tongs and serve yourself by loading up the baked goodies onto your tray. You take the tray and tongs to the cashier to pay. They'll bag up everything for you. Another important thing to know is their payment policy. They take cash, Venmo, and Zelle. No Apple Pay nor plastic.

A great stop for a Tahoe treat. My kids had seen the sign for mochi donuts near Stateline and…read morerequested we make a special trip to get one. The hours of the Stateline location are a little hit or miss so seeing this one pop up on yelp made it to logical stop. We strolled in later in the afternoon and found a case with a decent selection of donuts which included a few of the mochi variety. The kids were all hyped to get them, but then they saw the cleverly decorated donuts in the case, and immediately changed their minds in favor of those sporting the sugary icing and candy toppings! It's summer so I'm saying yes to everything and one child was enjoying a bright blue shark attack doughnut while the other had a deep and Rich chocolatey s'mores donut. Both of them were in hog heaven, and didn't look up from their plates until only crumbs remained. All of that said, I'm not sure this is a remarkable donut shop so just expect the basics and expect those basics to be done well. This is the reason for three stars over four or five. It's not really an experience in the selection isn't anything truly truly unique. There's nothing really special to the shop though there is a cute little wall mural to snap some photos with. Parking is super simple in the large lot and there's a good amount of space inside if you do want to sit and enjoy your donut. Staff was super friendly and helpful too. It's clear this is a family run operation and they have a lot of regard for their customers. This is a great stop. If you wanna bring back a little treat to those at the hotel or house nearby. Who doesn't enjoy a doughnut?

There's plenty of parking and I like that there is a spot to chill and enjoy your drink w a friend away from the order stand area. The lady making the drinks behind the counter with dark brown/black hair was quick and efficient when it came to my drink. I don't leave negative reviews like ever because I always try to be understanding but Unfortunately I really didn't like the service of the woman with the nose piercing at the register. There was a man waiting/grabbing his drink from the right sided counter and when it was my turn to order she didn't even greet me but started chatting with the man in an upbeat tone, laughing and talking about how much she missed his dogs being with him and just being exaggerative in conversation... if I'm being honest. She didn't stop talking to him or even acknowledge me until he literally walked out of the door which really whatever. At one point I began to just scroll my phone and wait for her to finish. It was awkward. As soon as he left she just looked at me and asked if I was ready, there was really no greeting or even a smile, which was funny to me because she wouldn't stop smiling at that man. I asked if they would be able to add one of the flavors from a specialty coffee into a matcha instead and I already felt like I was bothering her. She said yeah and every other word that came out of her mouth after that was literally just one worded, no costumer service or friendliness in anyway. I don't think there was even a line behind me. I then tried to order a sandwich for my bf that I thought he would like since he wasn't with me, she told me they ran out of it and I asked what was closest to and she told me....I then said yeah that sounds fine and she began asking me regular questions on how I wanted the sandwich to be, I answered and in the middle of this I saw the pesto sand-which and was like oh he'd probably like that better so I said "I'm really sorry but could I switch it for a pesto instead". Her responses was just "ok". I could tell she was probably handling making the food too and was irritated that I was making it "more difficult for her" but why would I pay for something that I wouldn't really even want or enjoy? I knew what I wanted when I came to the counter and unfortunately they didn't have it. I didn't come to the counter still wondering what I wanted and wasting her time. And you know maybe it wouldn't even be an issue if I didn't see how enthusiastic she was towards the other guy, honestly most coffee shops around here rlly aren't chit chatty and I'm on board w that, we all have somewhere to be and something to do but w that they are the same w every costumer....not picking and choosing. When I got home the sandwich was missing the cream cheese that was listed on the description and it was cold which I'm guessing you have to ask for it to be warmed? Idk that's something I would have thought they ask you. I've been a server here in Tahoe for 10 years and this just isn't how I would handle things. I am always trying to be fast and convenient wherever I am service wise because I know how things go from the other side so I don't think I was doing too much. She wasn't confrontational and I definitely wasn't. Not looking to get her in trouble or looking for any sort of compensation on my end more just speaking up about a situation I thought could have gone better. And after looking at reviews it's clear this isn't her first time having an off day. I live directly behind the parking lot and was thinking this could be a convenient place to have a quick drink without having to drive to the usual keys cafe or west side coffee but it is what it is.
