I always try to support small local businesses but when you're moving people tend to go with the big name companies. Well I'm glad I went with my first instinct and booked with Savannah and Sons. I dealt with both owners Carlos & Isaac and they were very professional. Kept me aware of how far away they were & who to expect which was very appreciated. I booked my move several weeks in advance and I was called 2 weeks out to confirm that no changes were needed and again the day before. I appreciate the confirmation text I was given the day before as well as a phone call when the movers were 15 minutes out. I love that type of accountability! My items were moved with care by all and I really appreciated the patience they had with me. If you've ever moved you know it's a struggle deciding what to take and what to leave but the men were understanding and I didn't feel rushed to decide. We moved a local move on Hilton Head Island. Our Savannah team was Carlos, Isaac, Chris, and Bernard. These guys were great! Very professional, courteous, and above all, they knew what they were doing. They moved our furniture with care and everything arrived in great condition. They are reasonably priced and when they were able to move us in less time than they had estimated, they were quick and willing to make an adjustment to our estimate for actual hours used. Do NOT use them. Only giving 1 star simply in order to post a review. We have moved numerous times and have never had a worse experience than we did with them packing our house. There was no rhyme or reason to the way they worked. I actually had to show one of the guys how to properly pack dishes. Not only was the packing done poorly, if I wasn't monitoring them a couple of the guys were on their phones constantly. When we unpacked we couldn't believe the number of broken items which shows how improperly things were packed---as many times as we have moved in the past and not had a single item broken and to suddenly have a ton shows what a poor job they did. They packed small boxes full of pillows and comforters, then filled large boxes with heavy books. One of the guys put my KitchenAid mixer in the bottom of a wardrobe box. I actually took it out and repacked it. Have these guys ever moved before? Or been taught how to pack? It doesn't seem like they know what they are doing at all. I finally said "okay guys I think 30 more minutes and we should be able to wrap it up" and they essentially quit working at that point in time and just started hanging out. I've used Savannah and Sons twice and each time has been fantastic. They wrap everything well They take things apart and put them together at the destination and I had no breakage on either move. They're on time, professional, hard working. and their prices are very reasonable/fair. Their team helped move our 2 storage units into our 2 story home with no problem. They were quick and efficient with everything and all very nice guys. They did accidentally put a dent in one of our walls but were quick to inform me and offered to have someone come to repair it. I declined as I understand the weight of what they were moving and the tight staircase they had to maneuver it in so honestly we would have done worse than them. These guys did an AMAZING job! We have a lot of bulky furniture & moved out of a very old house with narrow halls & a super narrow front porch. Not only did they get everything moved efficiently, but there wasn't one scratch or blemish on anything afterwards. I have never moved before & not had something get broken or messed up before now. They also put all furniture back together that they had to take apart to move. I hope to never move again, but I know without a doubt who we would use if we did!
