This restaurant has been here for ages, but this was the first time I visited. What a mistake on my part!! A great little place close to home with quick speedy service and cheap tasty food... You can bet I'll be a regular from now on!
At first glance this is just an informal local place that probably does more business from takeout than actually eating in. The decor is dated and nothing special, but that's probably the worst thing I have to say about it.
We started with the chicken satay.. YUM - the sauce is a peanut\coconut base and the chicken was supertender and moist.
Char Kway Teow - great blend of veggies and meats and just a hint of spice (you can choose your preferred level - mild, medium and hot).
Fried beef with plum sauce - crispy beef, tangy sauce and some onions and pineaple blended through.
Fried rice - not the special, so just the minimum of extras in the rice, but perfect as a change to steamed rice.
Steamed mixed veggies with oyster sauce - veggies were crisp and not overcooked although the oyster sauce was a little salty for me - I'll leave it out next time.
From the time I placed my order instore to when it was ready was the quoted 20 mins and they had people eating in as well as doing takeout.
They take cash and credit and although there doesn't appear to be a discount for takeout, they don't charge extra for credit and they have paypass. read more
