I eat here about once a week, and the food quality and service is consistently exceptional. I am especially impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant. I sit at the bar where you can see then cooking, and everything is really clean every time I come. I think the management here is probably very hands-on to be able keep everything so consistent. The defining factor is the RICE! If you eat at shit-stand's like Fleurichi Express, and occasionally dabble in the the food world's version of "unprotected sex" a.k.a. grocery store sushi, then you'll start to figure out that the most damnedest, seemingly-incurable offense to this category is how god-awful the rice usually is. NOT at Sashimi Express. Time and time again, their rice is ALWAYS fresh, and tastes how it should taste -- not as if it's been processed in a factory, or been sitting in a fridge for days on end to where it gets that stiff, non-chewy, gummy texture that tastes like ass-cream. The texture, consistency, vinegar-balance and temperature of the sushi here is always exceptional and just right; Sashimi Express is clearly the best I've encountered in the seemingly condemned category of "fast food sushi," by far. If you looking for an authentic sushi place, this is not the right place for you, but for those people who enjoys rolls and all that americanize style sushi, this place would work perfectly. With that said Im not saying their quality is bad, it just feel that for the price I paid the quality wasn't on par and the portion seems smaller than most. Their fish is pretty fresh, and the ingredients is of good quality I ordered the rainbow roll $9.85, and it came with 9 pieces of small round cuts that was dressed with tuna, yellow tail, shrimp, unagi and salmon. The fish was fresh, and tasted just fine, maybe not the highest quality grade, but it wasn't rotten or anything like that. My only major complaint is the fact that the fish slices were too thin, and I hardly got to savor the fish, it felt more rice than anything else. I would appreciate thicker cuts of fish thats all Im saying, but overall I enjoyed the taste. My sister ordered the sushi bento for $9.95. The soup and salad was good, but to be honest for $10, the meal lacks portion and my sister left hungry, and she isn't even a big eater, she is normal full with a small burger. The quality of the rolls that came with the meal is A-ok, nothing amazing, but just as I would expect from a place that calls themselves an express. My only suggestion is maybe for them to include more salad, or some kind of vegetable side dish, to make this dish even more filling. The box comes with Miso Soup and a salad. My bill was over $19 with drink The food was ok. Really the only standout for me was the salad that had a delicious dressing on it. All the portions were small though. The teriyaki chicken was dry with very little sauce. The 2 tempura shrimp were tiny and served with about two teaspoons of dipping sauce (i'n not exaggerating). The sushi was average and only 4 small pieces. I was tempted to ask if they'd given me the child's plate by mistake. I'd have been very happy if the bill had been 12 or 13 dollars..but at almost $20, I can't see going back any time soon. There are better options at that price. read more

The Chicken Teriyaki bowl was flavorful, and was loaded but I think the sauce could be a lot better. No big deal though as it tasted pretty generic which I am fine with. California roll with real crab, made a big difference as well and tasted pretty fresh compared to the imitation ones. Service was really friendly, and they seemed to want you to take your time when you are placing an order, since their menu is pretty big. Drinks are bottled, as there is no fountain drinks here for now. Bad thing is that there is very limited seating, which I believe they are trying to address that, since renovations here should be happening soon. I came here for a quick dinner, and as you could imagine, the place was pretty small. The seating is limited, but fortunately it was completely empty here. Me and two of my friends ordered about 6 menu items, plus 3 miso soups. I felt like the wait was a bit long since we were the only customers, as it took about 20 minutes. But that doesn't matter, because the quality and pricing are great. Practically every item on the menu is below 10 dollars, whereas other sushi places sell their rolls at a price usually between 8 to 14 dollars. And yes, even the specialty rolls were under 10 dollars, and they weren't small or anything. So you feel less guilty for getting more than one specialty roll. What was interesting to try here was the Real Crab California Roll that is made from actual crab meat rather than imitation meat. While it wasn't incredibly amazing, the difference was immediately noticeable, and I definitely prefer it over the regular California rolls made with imitation crab meat. Furthermore, it was fairly inexpensive for a roll containing real crab meat. My favorite roll here was the Fantasy Roll which contained fried tempura shrimp, imitation crab, and thin pieces of cucumber, then topped with slices of avocado and delicious grilled eel, and finally drizzled with a sweet eel sauce, and then sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. This type of roll is what I generally have come to know as the dragon roll. But it was called the fantasy roll, and they have two types of dragon rolls called the Red Dragon and Green Dragon, but the ingredients didn't perfectly suit my desires that the Fantasy did. I also got the miso soup and drink combo for 2 dollars which comes with a miso soup and you get to pick a drink from the fridge. Pretty decent price. I actually wanted regular water in a cup but they only had tap water. So I just tried this canned Japanese green tea to go along with my soup. My friend also ordered the 9 piece sashimi, which was good, but I don't really know how to judge that kind of thing. Overall, it's a good place to go for inexpensive sushi that still has quality and integrity. I definitely recommend this place for the food. Salmon teriyaki bento box used to come with the side of California rolls( 4 pcs) and two pcs of nigiri but got replaced with two pcs of shrimp tempura and four pieces of pan fried gyoza ( potstickers). Gyoza were okay , average , as good as it gets. Surprisingly shrimp tempura were crisp and delicious , not soggy.
