After watching many businesses fail due to a lack of customers or being forced to close for extended periods of time, I want to support local businesses now more than ever. That being said, I came across The Total Look Salon in Presque Isle. I am working locally for a few months and needed to get in to freshen up my look a bit. Specifically, root touch-up and a trim. Anticipating not being able to get in for weeks, I was pleasantly surprised to hear they had a cancellation, enabling me to go in the same afternoon. My stylist was Myka, and sweet as could be. Having my fair share of horror stories when it comes to my hair, I am always a little nervous when going to someone new. She quickly set my mind at ease, as it was evident she knew her way around her craft. The shampoo and conditioner are not to be missed, as it was the most thorough and exhilarating scalp massage I can recall. It was wonderful. I am seriously considering scheduling weekly appointments just to have my hair washed and my scalp massaged. Myka trimmed my hair just enough without leaving me looking like I'd cut my own hair. The final touch was a beautiful braid as it was an incredibly windy afternoon. The environment of the salon was like a made for tv movie combined with Cheers. The ladies and other stylists were chatting together and even offered to help me find other services since I was new in town. They made sure I didn't leave without having the information I needed. It's been a long time since I have experienced that laid-back, comfortable feeling at a salon. Thank you, Myka. You matched my color perfectly.

This is a small salon in Woodstock. My mother and I had gotten pedicures. Hoping to be in the same…read moreroom, we weren't. My nail tech was a very nice girl. But for the price of 40$ a pedicure, mine was done in a tin bowl that you can also make bread in, along with used and weathered nail files (Mothers tech also used old nail files). At the end of the session my mother and I left the salon. My mother was not happy with her service either. When I got home I looked at my toes and the job done was not professional looking at all. The nails were not even completely covered and my polish has chipped already. The part that is bad about the chipped polish is that it is shellac. If I had to put a price on my service today I would have paid 10$. I most likely could have applied the polish better myself. My mother and I got vouchers for free pedicures in the near future. We will not be using these vouchers. Again - my nail tech is a sweet girl.. But would not have my nails done there again.

Jimmy started right away. He does not speak much but to ask questions about your nails. I haven't had my nails done in almost 10 years. He was not rough and the tools were sanitized. It is an old school nail salon from the early 2000s or 90s if you recall those. They are not young guns looking to do fancy designs but I am old school where I just wanted length without breaking the bank. $30.50 for a full set. Can't be beat. I got regular polish which they have a lot to choose from but I think women usually choose Gel because the polish lacked dusting and some looked past their prime....Reason for 4 stars. I will be back and I love my nails.

Really rough as well not the most friendly person in the native language. use The same tool on me and then on another and was quite rude body language wise.my nails look god awful due to them rushing I was in ans out in maybe 30 mins for 2 person set. My nails are big and chunky some are squared while others look more rounded with sharp edges and the acrylic isn't shaped right and my nails are on crooked. My nails look unflattering as if I did it with my eyes close. Just poorly done don't cheap out here at all. Go to a better salon is all I'm saying
