If you fancy splashing out a bit of cash on regular food and drinks, in a great atmosphere then maybe you'll like the Saracen's head. This used to be a family hot spot but not so much now because the prices aren't worth what you pay. You might agree that having friendly staff is a bonus to any business. As I just said, due to the high prices I'm not a regular her but I can imagine that the staff have a nice relationship with the regulars because they are friendly, kind and aim to be helpful.
The deals on their tasty and filling food are regularly changing but the deals are more useful when there are two or more people. In case you're wondering "Why would people go to the pub, on their own?" The truth is I'm not too sure either, but that happens here. The Saracens Head also sell curries but as an Asian I don't think the food tastes much like what it should do.
Here's a useless fact for you; pubs used to be known as 'Public Inns' and people could stay there after long journeys and if you have visited Shirley then you'll know there are a lot of large businesses and industrial estates. The Saracens head also holds a Premier Inn. The point is that you can here whilst enjoying the food and drinks, which is handier if you've travelled a long way or have a business meeting the next day. The pub is located roughly in the middle of the high street and you can sit outside and look at the busy surroundings and have front row seats at parades like the ST Georges celebrations. read more
