Sara is FABULOUS. I commissioned her to alter clothing that was too big for me and wow - no one would ever be able to tell I didn't purchase them this way. These items included a bikini bottom! I wish I had before and after photos but just know that the change was drastic. I have so many items to bring to her now because she's fantastic. I had a lot going on with wedding planning and a health issue which led to....Not trying on my dress with my shoes until 2 weeks before my wedding day like a CRAZY PERSON! The dress fit nearly perfectly initially when I tried it on but was 2-3 inches too long. I thought with my shoes it wouldn't be too big of a deal.. I was so wrong and I panicked. I had an Indian outfit that arrived a month before my wedding and unfortunately, it was made to fit an actual barbie doll. The top would not go past my shoulders, the skirt was long and the waist was incredibly small. Indian outfits can be incredibly difficult to alter because of the material and heavy embroidery, but Sara is an artist! She managed to make it fit like a glove and it doesn't look like it's been altered at all. My mom, the world's toughest critic, was even impressed. I feel like I must be going crazy since all of Sara's other reviews are fantastic. Sara is perfectly nice, but I had a tricky time with wedding dress alterations here. My dress took a couple extra sessions of iterations due to things that had been overlooked (like snags, visible stitches, and a crude bustle hooks) and was finished much closer to wedding day than I had hoped. After Sara was done, I ended up taking it to another place to get it pressed to try to hide some of the imperfections and exposed stitches. For the amount that I paid, I had hoped for more attention to detail and a better sense of urgency. read more

I can not recommend Sara Alterations enough! She tailored both my wedding & reception dresses, and did such an amazing job. My reception dress was a vintage dress I was set on wearing, however it was way too small, even after letting out the seams. I waited maybe 2 weeks late to get my wedding dress altered. I needed it shortened, the slit closed by one inch and a bustle added. Sara was able to get everything done with plenty of time to spare! WOW! Where to start...I sought out Sara Tailoring and Alterations to make some modifications on my wedding dress. From the get go, Sara was as excited as I was for my Big Day! I had to do a last minute alteration to my wedding dress, and Sara was wonderful throughout the whole process. She worked with my timing and everything went accordingly! I had to get the waist of my dress increased by half an inch, and it had a belt with rhinestones on it. There was a quarter of an inch on both sides of the invisible zipper which were missing rhinestones (because of the alteration), and she was kind enough to sew some rhinestones on the dress, to make the expansion less obvious. I called a lot of alterations companies, and Sara was the only one that was willing to dye my dress. I worked with her for several months on this redesign, and she paid so much attention to detail--hand removing pieces of lace that I loved from the bottom of my dress and then re-placing them onto the new dress. We've used Sara on multiple occasions for myself and both of my children. Her work is amazing and she's vert patient in dealing with multiple fittings and changes. So happy! I came in Monday evening, right before Sara closed, needing alterations for a dress done for my brothers wedding by Friday. She took her time, had me try on my dress and made sure everything was how I wanted it. I came in today (3 days later) to pickup my dress! I just tried it on and it looks PERFECT!
