That being said access to quality Care is atrocious. I have had a referral from March of 2026 to The allergy clinic the appointment has been canceled and pushed out three times the last time I was offered a new appointment to replace one on November 11th 26th with either April 16th or May 5th of 2027. earlier this week I discovered appointments that I had in my calendar which I knew I scheduled approximately 2 weeks ago we're not in my record. Reestablish appointments which I've been going to every two weeks for almost a year, required me to spend almost 45 minutes on the phone and multiple phone calls to get the appointments reestablished. This is not the first time that appointments with the physical therapy department have just disappeared. Twice I have shown up for appointments and been told they don't exist. I have also had that experience in ophthalmology when bringing my mother to regular appointments that she has every 12 weeks. I would add I have brought my mother in for scheduled appointments in ophthalmology. She is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. . On one occasion the doctor she was to see entered the department at 9:15, having been on rounds with residents that morning. We spent over 5 hours in ophthalmology and of that she spent less than 45 minutes with providers. Billing is also an ongoing issue. I am currently trying to sort out over billing issues for my mother which are looking to be in the $30,000 to $50,000 range. I am a veteran, and my billing is through the VA referrals at Hitchcock. I have had issues with their billing company billing both the VA and Medicare I have had them place me into collections even though I did not actually owe them anything. And at least several times a year I get notifications that they have not handled the billing properly and the billing has been declined even though there is a valid referral to the hospital. Despite multiple times having to deal with this, I waste a significant amount of my time making calls to try to correct these errors that are not of my doing. Considering that it's estimated they make 1.4 billion dollars per year I find it unfathomable that there level of service to their consumers outside of medicine is so atrocious. I am also aware that many of their employees feel misused and underappreciated by the administrative staff of the hospital. I do not know how that affects long-term continued excellence in care, but I can't imagine it's going to be beneficial in the long term.

This is a low level hospital. There are some good doctors, but more of them are poor. I've had…read moredoctors make medical decisions that seemed to be based on whether or not they like me. I've had poor care decisions made that put me at risk, simply because the doctor was covering his behind. I've had doctors play passive aggressive power games about care. There is no sense of compassion. You might luck out and get a smart doctor but the odds are against you.

Staff can be short and rude but so are most of the people they deal with. They have experts in all types of medicine and other than going to Boston one of the more complete hospitals in the area.

Very quick patient assessment, he missed parts of my body on his scan on my skin, was too concerned about documenting his findings, fought with me about the prescription the last experienced dermatologist gave me the last time, filled it, gave me the wrong prescription, gave me no instructions, forgot to have me pay for the skin tag removals and walked out of the room 2. I went to the front desk because I knew I had to pay for the cosmetic stuff, but they said, 'No you are OK" 3. 3. The billing department called me obsessively the following Monday (I had the work done on Friday) twice a day everyday till I called them back. They called me on my cell during work while I was at a client. Sorry kids not dealing with you. Word of advice to billing, "When you F up and don't collect send the patient a bill first. If they don't pay send them to collections then have collections bug the crap out of them. However, don't try to cover you own behind by unprofessionally calling literally one hour after the fact (I left at 4 PM on Friday, they started harassing me at 9 am on Monday)" Word of advice: Have the attending come in after the fact and check everything.
