I love Santa Pod and my main interest is the Volkswagen car events such as Bug Jam which is held there in July and is one of the biggest Volkswagen festivals in Europe. They have loads of specialist weekend and one day car events on all throughout the year as well as Run what ya brung car racing where you can race your car down the quarter mile track as well as loads of racing events. There are loads of seats to watch the racing as well as a huge grass bank and an area behind the start line - but don't stand there when the jet cars go up the track!! There are usually lots of stalls to buy things from as well as plenty of burger vans, pizza stands, jacket potato vans and other food products to tuck into. The campsite is huge and split over two fields. For the really popular events like Bug Jam it is advisable to get there as early as you can on day one as the fields get packed out with tents, camper vans and cars. The atmosphere is great and the facilities such as toilets and shower blocks have dramatically improved over the past few years. The portaloos are still not something I would venture into though. I would rather queue for the toilet blocks! You do have to pay £1 for a shower which I guess is OK considering the amount of people that these events attract. The water consumtion must be huge, although the prices of the weekend events is now really high and I know it has put a lot of people off going as it is just too expensive, especially if it rains as you can't do a lot apart from sit in your tent listening to the rain. read more

Fantastic raceway in Northampton, can see drag racing, classic car events and events throughout the year, also has a great website, well layed out and a great family fun day out The online tickets work out cheaper than buying on the day so its worth taking a look. They also offer different vip and corporate packages to make the day extra special read more

I first visited Santa Pod back in 1981, and have been a regular visitor (and sometimes racer) over the years. The sight, sounds and smells of methanol burning, 8,000 horsepower Top Fuel dragsters, covering a standing quarter in 4.7 seconds at 315mph is something that can't be described - you just have to experience it for yourself. Of course, there are other classes too - the crowd pleasing Funny cars, Pro/Stocks and Pro/Modifieds, street cars capable of 150 mph in 10 seconds, bikes of all descriptions from street bikes to the truly terrifying Top Fuel bikes reaching over 200mph in the quarter mile - just get out there and see for yourself. One word of caution though - if you do, you'll be hooked!! read more

Santa Pod raceway is quite a famous race track. They have all sorts of different events going on, they have Bug Jam, Run what you brung. The days itself can work out quite expensive its £10 to get in. Then you have all teh extra costs of food drink and memorabilia etc. They have a race track where cars and bikes race up a track then see what time they do it in. It is a very good day out for the motor exthusiast. read more

santa pod raceway is a good venue which is run on an old world war 2 plane runway when you enter there is a memorial on your right, even some of the old buildings that were used can still be seen on the drive up, they have a great firework night event but it can get very wet and muddy, and regular bug jams plus many more, only minus is there is only one entrance and exit and it takes ages to get out when very busy, it took us two hours last time we just ended up sitting in the car, not easy with 2 bored, tired and cold kids. read more

We took the kids to Bug Jam this year at Santapod. It was great fun. Monster trucks, stuntmen, VW everywhere. A fairground. Rocket cars. If you love all that its worth going down for the day - or camping for the weekend. Its sometime in August I think. Loads of stalls to buy goodies, converted old and new VW campers, just follow the campers all the way there - great weekend! read more
