My…read morehusband was beginning to have memory problems so we moved into a independent apartment. Soon after getting settled he had to have a bladder surgery the antistatic accelerated the dementia to the point I wasn't able to care for him so he was moved to the memory center. I also had to have a pacemaker put in at the same time. Luckily we we settled where we both had the care we needed. I'm still in independent living but walk through the hall to see my husband every evening and feed him his dinner, then spend time with him until he is put to bed. Everyone's very friendly and helpful.

I don't know where to begin....PLEASE research this place at length...some wonderful aides..our…read moreexperience broke my heart...and my dear mothers heart....she was over medicated and clearly had a reaction to meds given at a hospital but when she returned to Aberdeen she was FALSELY accused of having pneumonia instead of drug induced delirium--the second hospital visit said it was overmedication and NO pneumonia proven by CT scan, blood cultures, and chest X-ray...she had had a rhinovirus which is a cold...my sweet 94 year old mother went through a total nightmare and I strongly believe it was really mishandled!!! My dad got out on January 14, 2014 after they moved in on Dec 31,2013... and I was told the problem...HE WAS TOO FAST!!! He was 90!!!The POLICE had to find him...it scared my mom a LOT!! particularly the fact that they paid the price for the wander guard---its worth 9 points and they have a point system that figures what level you are on....my mom was so scared after this...rightfully so...she and I were accused of bringing a wanderer to Aberdeen...NO...we did not..he had NOT wandered...if he had I would have said that...I did make it crystal clear that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimers...so the potential to wander in the immediate transition is a KNOWN fact.... Dad ended up in skilled in March of 2015....some wonderful aides there, too BUT not enough!!!! Dad had to wait a LOT...wait to eat...wait to go to bed...waiting is the LAST sentence I heard about...he apparently said "don't forget about me" that broke my heart in light of finding him in his room with the lights off facing a door when he couldn't walk or hardly talk...I found him and I have it on tape...it broke my heart..but see GOD is good cause he stirred my heart to go and check on him even though I had been on that side just before...and I told my mom I wanted to go tell him goodnight...I had a suspicion in my heart something was wrong and I needed to go see him... My mom wasn't allowed to go to bed when she wanted to and when she NEEDED to...she is now 94 and one of the first questions asked by the other ALs is what time does she get up and what time does she want to go to bed???? simple I think....I did contact the state...many infractions cited by the state....it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life---that being the ending of the time because they MADE my mother transfer out of her own HOME!!! trust me...after dad dying and after having delirium...making her move out was so horrible...she did LOVE her apartment...now she has one even NICER...but the pain of losing her friends and two of her cherished aides will NEVER go away....

After having experienced other rehab facilities, we were so grateful to have found this facility and team. Our onboarding meeting was buttoned up, informative, and covered ALL the bases. The entire team delivered wonderful, wonderful care -- a MAJOR change from where we had done rehab previously which was heartbreaking and on the verge of downright negligent. Major bonus points for the food and expansive menu, which our mom said was consistently delicious (again, unlike other places where she could barely stomach what was served). I was also so impressed with how clean the entire facility was, and how attentive they were to keeping our mom's bed + clothing + linens always clean (any accidents were dealt with IMMEDIATELY). The staff truly cares about the patients and residents. They're doing God's work, and they have wonderful hearts. You can feel at peace knowing your loved one will truly get the best care.

She was able to get up and transfer to the bathroom, etc., but the night staff put a diaper on her and told her to urinate in it instead of taking her to the bathroom. This was only the worst thing they did. We told the director of the facility and the nursing staff managers, and it happened two more times before I identified the specific CNA. The staff protected the identity of the bad apple in lieu of solving the problem. My family was fortunately able to move my sister before it happened again. The owners of the facility are making a ton of money and present their story as a caring family business but are another example of corporate greed. DON'T GO THERE!
