This resturant is one of the crummiest run places we've ever eaten at. We have given it several opportunities to change our minds considering its one of the only chain style resturants in Enterprise to eat at. Santa Fe was great when we first came here over four years ago however over the last year the quality has gone way down. Steak tips are always over cooked and dried up almost black through and through and we received an order last night the hamburger was dried out and the baked potato was so old as if it had been cooked for lunch record for happy hour and recooked for dinner was totally brown inside and rolled in salt. The meal between that and a poor boy sandwich was over $26 and worse than any fast food restaurant I've had in a while. It was so bad that I could not eat any of the potato and no more than a bite of the hamburger. The french fries were old, dried out and burnt. First off our waitress was very nice and attentive. Every one else was way off their game. The bartender wasn't at the bar and no one seemed to know where she was. We got our appetizers and it's wrong even though the waitress wrote it down correctly, we watched her do it. Next the manager who seems not to care about handling his business didn't do anything about what was going on. We saw a customer take his own ticket to another waitress because she was just chilling with the so called manager walking around and nothing is being done. So now more than 20 min there with the place empty we still haven't gotten our drinks and the appetizer had to go back because it was wrong. So, my husband, who travels a lot, came home to spend the weekend with me and we thought we'd give Santa Fe a try. Huge mistake. We went early, around 4:30, so we could get in and get out without a long wait. After the hostess stared at the seating chart for around 3 minutes, i guess trying to figure out the best place to put us, we were finally seated. There were approximately 10-15 people in the whole place. Our waitress came, took our drink orders, a Samuel Adams Cold Snap and a sweet tea, then we didn't see her again for about 15 minutes. She gave us the drinks and asked if we wanted an appetizer, we didn't, then took our order. Now we aren't fancy people, we ordered chicken finger with potato and steamed veggies and a 12 Oz med-rare with sweet potato and salad. The salad came and was covered with gross, slimy brown lettuce. I couldn't believe that they would even let that leave the kitchen. Then after waiting another 35 minutes our food finally arrived. During our wait the waitress didn't check on us not once. So back to the food. I ordered ranch with my chicken tenders and it had poured out on over 1/2 the tenders, the waitress said, yeah, sorry about that! Really!!!??? So on to the steak, med-rare turned put to be well done. It was inedible. We waited for the waitress to come back so we could have it taken back but of course she never showed up. My husband had to get and and find her! So they took the steak , but I didn't want to eat all my food and then be done when his came back so we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally the manager came back with the steak. No apologies, just, yeah I hate over cooked steak too.... again REALLY! So the next steak was cooked good, however over 1/2 the steak was straight fat. Even though they don't have them on the menu, that was what I got. I know my steaks and i was not given what I ordered. So I'm back in Alabama visiting my little brother (CK) and he insists this is the only decent place in town to get dinner and a cold beer. So we went. Being from Texas, I have to laugh at the menu items because this place is obviously trying to make you feel like you're in Texas. "Alamo Chicken"? I was not aware that Davy Crockett and his fighting bretheren were coming up with new ways to cook chicken while getting slaughtered. Also, "Fredericksburg Quesedilla"? I'm pretty sure that Fredericksburg is known for their German food, not their German /Mexican fusion cuisine. Anyway, to the update. I ordered the Santa Fe chicken. When reading the description on the menu, I got as far as "mushrooms" and "pepper jack cheese" and thought this is what I should have. I should have read the entire description. When the dish arrived, it was covered in a yellow sauce which I thought was some kind of rotel cheese dip. But it wasn't. It was honey mustard dressing. I like honey mustard, in a cup on the side that I can dip my food in. Apparently, this place prefers to slather it on like gravy. The chicken was grilled, tender, and good (once I wiped off the dressing). The loaded baked potato was good as well. Another in our dining party ordered the chicken salad and swears the lettuce wasn't fresh, but rather was wilted and old. The beer was cold and the waitress kept them coming. I guess the honey mustard thing with the chicken was my fault for not reading the entire description on the menu, so I'll keep the 2 star rating. read more

Service is absolutely terrible. Had to ask for just about everything. Including napkins and complimentary rolls. Then ask for extra sauce on Southwestern pasta . My pasta still came out dry as ever. Because the only thing about Santa Fe in Troy, Alabama that is consistent is the way they mess up my food EVERY time, I took my family to the Santa Fe in Enterprise. We laughed and joked with the waiter and explained to him how every time we went to the Troy store, my food never came out correctly and he said that he would make sure we were happy. He got our drinks quickly, brought out overbrowned rolls (I forgive him for that) and brought our salads in a pretty decent amount of time. I was actually looking forward to a good meal and then we waited.... and waited.... and waited.... Finally our four meals came out. Well it looked like the curse had been broken because not only was my steak well done, no pink, charcoaled outside (I ordered MEDIUM) but my daughter's Santa Fe Chicken with nothing but onions and cheese came out slathered with honey mustard and they left off the mushrooms on both of the other orders at our table. Yep, that's right, everyone's order was wrong. So for some reason this is funny to me (because mine is always wrong and I had passed the curse...) and I laughingly explain to the waiter and he tromps off to get the manager. Then this obnoxious, loud woman tries to tell me that my steak isnt all that overdone but she will cook me a new one, get some mushrooms and my daughter just ate hers wrong and everything. This is the part of my story that is scary... ok so she brought me out another steak after a significant wait, and I took one bite into it and it was RUINED... I got confirmation from the hubby and he agreed that the steak was ruined (aka rotten, spoiled, inedible). I got nauseated and excused myself to the bathroom and the manager came back, took the steak, claimed that she ate half of it and two other cooks tasted it and it was a good steak. I am here to tell you that was some serious BS...that steak made me sick. Santa Fe is my fam's favorite but from this point forward, they will just have to eat it without me. I feel for their waitstaff because sometimes they get screwed by the fact that the restaraunt just can't, won't or don't hire anyone who can cook at their restaraunts. Ehhh...adding this specific restaurant to the list of places to never return to. They used to be pretty good a few months back but either they hired incompetent cooks or lying staff or both. Someone lost our ticket or just didn't submit it and after being there for 2hrs on our now 2nd ticket, we got overcooked steaks, undercooked fries, and a smug manager who acted baffled that we wanted to leave because the ticket was only placed 35 min ago. It's cool, he offered us desserts while we waited to comp us for our previously lost ticket so i suppose the waitress lied to him AND us and I guess he forgot about that as well??? According to the waitress, it was the 3rd time the kitchen lost a ticket that day‍ Someone's incompetent there and they really need to get their act together. It's a damn shame. read more

Been here a few times and have always had great food and good service. The texas cheese stick appetizer is awesome. They have a 32oz. steak challenge that if you eat it all you get a card good for 10% of your meals for a year. Mixed drinks were a bit much but beer was reasonable. read more

This restaurant rocks every time my family visits. They're always nice, we're always waited on promptly. The food always rocks....LOVE their burgers! We've been there three times and each time had a different waiter, each one was awesome. Their atmosphere is great, the bill is low for a place like this. Thank god for there not being a character cap on the reviews for this site because this is going to be a pretty long review. My husband, daughter, and I decided to make a huge mistake and visit Santa Fe in Enterprise Alabama for the first time, today. Upon arriving we were instantly seated (it was around 12:30 pm). The water wasn't filtered properly {it tasted like chlorine}, the lemons were so thinly sliced that they were of no use, the rolls were hard and overly brown. We order our food in hopes that things would get better. 45 minutes later we receive our food {there were maybe 6 tables in the whole restaurant with customers sitting, no this wasn't a weekend night at supper time.} I ordered the fried catfish, fries, and a side salad with thousand island and no onion. The thousand island was atrocious, the salad came with 2 huge onion rings and apparently was prepped prior because the salad as a whole was overly chilled, the catfish was over cooked & drier than a rainless month in this great state of Alabama, and the fries were beyond over seasoned. My husband ordered the Santa Fe Chicken with a side sauteed mushrooms, and a Caesar salad. The chicken was SMALL and very very dry, the bacon that sat on top of the chicken tasted like a cracklin that had been submerged in bacon grease over night. The Caesar Dressing was Terrible, if the Santa Fe franchise considers that specific dressing, Caesar, then they need to reevaluate their taste pallets because they are horrifically off. The mushrooms were spicy, they were suppose to be just regular ole' sauteed mushrooms. My daughter wouldn't even touch her french fries or corn dog because she disliked it's taste as well. We pulled my daughters lid off of her cup for them to see that it was empty and we waited 7 minutes for them to refill it {yes I was timing at this point because I was fuming upset}. Being that I could see the kitchen from the table we were sitting at, I could see the employees playing on their phones. So professional right? Not only that, but the bathroom was disgusting and the toilets didn't work. It looked like they haven't been cleaned in a week. There is such thing as bathroom cleaner and a scrub brush, I mean they even sale them at the dollar tree. Come on now. That being said. I do not recommend Santa Fe. I'm fine with mistakes. My husband and I went for lunch today and to say that I was disappointed would be an understatement!!! Our service was okay but the food was horrible! My husband got the Nachos Grande which he said was okay. My food on the other hand was NOT! I got the Dukes Chicken Fried Steak with a mashed potato side, I asked for brown gravy done medium well. When my food came out the steak was WAY over done, and it had a VERY small amount of gravy on it (half of which was congealed)! I'm not one to usually complain so I took the congealed gravy off and just put it in the plate so I could eat the rest, but I was left with so little gravy I asked for some extra. The waitress came back and said more gravy would be .99 more! I said half of mine was congealed and you are going to charge me for some that's not...wow! So I said never mind and my husband asked if we could please speak to the manager. She came over and we told her that my steak was over done and I didn't get any gravy hardly that wasn't congealed why couldn't I have more? The answer: the gravy is pre measured and it would be .99 for more BUT she could cook me a WHOLE new steak because it was overdone!!!!! WHAT????!!!!!! ALL I wanted was the amount of gravy that should have come on my steak had it not been congealed and you won't give me that .99 gravy BUT you will cook me an entire new $3 or $4 dollar steak????!!!! I was and still am VERY angry and disappointed and dissatisfied! The manager did not offer to do ANYTHING else to offset my disappointing food! This is the SECOND time something like this has happened to me at this restaurant!!!! I am DONE eating here in spite of it being about a mile from my house!!!!! I went to Santa Fe on 09/25/10 and it was a horrible dining experience, I waited over 35 minutes to get a table which that didn't bother me since it was a Saturday evening, once we got our table, the waitress took a long time to get our drinks, appetizers and meals, all the steaks were overcooked, she kept apologizing everytime she would bring something late but she wasn't even trying to make it better, it was the first time in my life that I didn't tip my server, I know how hard being a server is and I always take this into consideration, I used to be a server but this one sucked!
