Food is gross. Been here a few times for a chance at redemption. There is none to be had. Skip it!

The honey is so into this place. Obviously, their signature dessert is their sans rival cake. One slice is enough. Two slices is diabetes.

Read about from the kitchen of Mel's Café from a blog and the reviews were stellar so I went ahead…read moreand tried it. First off, location - ignore Google maps because it's wrong, Mel's cafe is a short walk away from Plaza. Go right just after Hotel Nicanor and walk around 5 minutes. It's right across Pasta King and a short distance from 2nd Storey Nail Shop. The restaurant is located in the second floor and upon entry you will be greeted by a small yet artsy-interior. The colors are vivid and the restaurant borrows elements from popular Korean-inspired coffee shops. I ordered coffee chops (I never liked chicken nor fish), potato mojos, steamed dumpling, raspberry house-blended tea and butterbeer. The coffee chop tasted okay but the meal was ruined by the rice they served - it was the hardest rice I've ever tasted. The potato mojos were a bit on the salty side too. The dumplings are okay but nothing to really write about. What I actually liked were the drinks. Maybe, they're are more of a cafe rather than a diner, not sure. I've been told that their best-seller is the cheesy dory but I never tried that so maybe I missed out. Overall, it's a quaint little cafe you and your friend can go to for a bit of peace and quiet. It's rather small so unless you have a huge group dining, you won't have any problems with intimate conversations.

Straight to the point... the patty was "meh" I mean it tasted like ground "meat" (I wasn't sure if…read moreit was beef or pork because it's not that beefy tasting) seasoned with salt & pepper (nothing special with it) the cheese sauce was more on the "sauce" part and less on the cheese part. The burger is quite big for its price though so that's good! I wouldn't recommend this place to foodies but definitely to non-foodie people. I think I can see where this place is going and I like that they're trying to... they just need to work more on their burgers (in the taste department) so that they can make it their own and leave a mark that people will totally recognize. A line of burgers that are distinctly theirs! I may need to try it again for a second opinion.

Decided to check out this new place we saw from a friend's post. The place was not at all fancy,…read moreand that's what we liked. It was chill! I'm not sure though whether they're trying to give a Zen atmosphere or they're just keepin' the place plain using bamboo walls and bonzai on top of the tables to add. The menu was basically our all-fav. It wasn't hard to choose. We decided to go for the grilled burger and beef nachos. The grilled burger patty was big, but it wasn't juicy. Thank the bun and lettuce and everything in between for saving the thing. It can be shared for two and heavy for its price. The beef nachos was really new to me. They made their own nachos which i think is a good idea but it came a bit too starchy. Will surely come back for the second time to make sure what i tasted was not a product of a rush order and excited to see if we're gonna finish the whole dish when we come back.
