We recently discovered this cute liquor shop. There are not a ton of places on Captiva and Sanibel Island where you can get beer, wine and liquor so this is a great place if you are looking for that. It is located in the Jerry's shopping center. There is not a lot of shops in this center but we always like to check out what they do have here. We stopped inside to see if they had anything local. The lady inside was so sweet, we ended up chatting with her for quite some time. She also offered us samples she had at the counter. Of course, we had to take some samples! This is just your typical liquor shop. They have beer, wine, ciders, and then lots of liquor. We did ask if there was anything local and they had a couple of things that were made in Florida but nothing super local. Most of the items they had were drinks that we knew of. They did have a few things that were made in Ft Myers, which is pretty close. My sister ended up buying a liquor she has wanted to try and was made in Florida so that made her happy. Overall this is a great stop. If you are wanting to grab some beer for beach or wine for your room, this is a great stop. They have a few items already chilled in the coolers. Sanibel Spirits is a liquor store that we have seen for many years. It is located in the Jerry's Shopping Center and we always go shopping at Jerry's. This year we actually went in. There are not a ton of places on Captiva and Sanibel Island where you can get beer, wine and liquor so this is a great place if you are looking for that. The shopping center no longer has a lot of shops, but we like to look around in what is still standing. We actually went inside to see if they had anything local. The employee inside was a very fun and sweet lady. We actually ended up chatting with her for quite some time. The best part was she offered us samples she had at the counter, like numerous samples. Of course, we had to partake! My wife and sister in law actually had to stop, she was offering so many. This is just a typical liquor shop. They have beer, wine, ciders, and then lots of liquor as well as lottery tickets. We asked if there was anything local, which they did have a small display of things that were made in Florida but nothing local to the island, which makes sense. But they did have items that were made in Ft Myers, which is pretty close. My sister in law ended up buying a liquor she has wanted to try and was made in Florida so that made her happy. My wife and I bought one of the items she sampled to us, it was a key lime rum that was also made in Florida. Overall nothing negative to say, this is a good shop. Sanibel Spirits carries a small, but nice collection of alcohol. My husband was in search of a specific rum that was not available, but ended up finding an equally interesting rum. The owner was really friendly and offered my husband a taste of the rum when my husband mentioned that he had never tried the rum before. You'll find larger selections off of the island, but Sanibel Spirits offers a nice selection if you are looking for a local liquor store in Sanibel. read more

Went Sanibel on vacation. Compared to a "big" liquor and cigar stores, this place is small. And island charming. What would you expect to find on a perfect island? Very nice staff. Did not get any adult beverage but noticed high quality options. Very limited choices on cigars (those I purchased). But great high quality and well preserved choices. To satisfy my craving for a long, perfect and smooth/strong smoke, I purchased brickhouse maduros. Wonderful. For a lighter taste, several Connecticut blends. Staff even provides the matches. Next vacation, will not bring any of my own cigars. Will visit Spirits. Great place. read more

Went here for some whiskey. They had a very good selection from which to choose at reasonable prices (we opted for a 750ml Buffalo Trace for $26), which would have made this place 4 stars.... but the guy working behind the counter was so friendly and loquacious that it made our experience a 5 star one. read more
