The majority of the space for this park is allocated to the baseball diamonds. If you travel along…read morethe west side of the diamonds you can find the shelter and playground area. The condition of both is okay with the playground equipment seeming to be in pretty good shape. The shade helps keep the kids cool while playing. The shelter has restrooms available, tables and grills too. There doesn't seem to be any walking trails and there is a concrete pad near the playground that has no obvious purpose. Not sure if it was something that was removed, or something that failed to get added. Review #857

Although the park may be quite useful for local parties and celebrations, the condition of the park…read moreduring my visit left me with a less than favorable review. Yes, there are multiple shelters and there was a small playground, but the condition of the wood on the baseball dugouts and a mini shelter by the playgrounds were worn and needed some attention. The park is flat with a gravel driveway that leads back on the north end with no clearly designated parking area (If it is like my hometown, folks probably pull off onto the grass.) That's okay as long as it doesn't rain. All the playground surfaces were stone based which aren't the most kid friendly surfaces available either. I think that the park could just use some TLC and a bit of cash to improve the condition of some of the pieces I've mentioned. Having seen parks all across central Indiana, I've seen how great a park can be when it is important to the community to view it as an asset. Review #863

This is the only community park in Morristown, and it's actually a little bit north of town over the hump where the railroad tracks are, and you will see it on your left side, and cornfields to the right, ha. There is a children's play ground area, a soccer field, softball field, golf driving range, public restrooms, and power hookups at various locations. There are lots of open flat grass areas for all types of other fun activities. There are 3 shelters that include; charcoal grill, picnic tables, lights and power. There is an Amphitheater / stage that is great for live bands, as there is plenty of grass seating in front of the stage area that will accommodate many people. Park Shelters are available for rent: $50 per day with a $25 refundable damage deposit. $50 per day for use of the Amphitheater Stage area per day with a $25 refundable damage deposit. No charge to County organizations for shelter but a $25 refundable damage deposit is required. Donations from the local Veterans keep the park looking great. The park is open from dawn until dusk daily, and free to use the amenities during those hours. There is also a concession stand that sells snacks during special events such as league softball games. There is plenty of parking off the driveways in the grassy areas. I have been here for large parties with live bands, catered in food, drinks, etc and it was a great time!

There appears to be a community building dividing the playgrounds. The equipment seemed to be in pretty good shape and there were some mature trees for shade. Parking seemed to be limited near the playgrounds and I can imagine that on days that ballgames are played that those are gobbled up quickly. Still, it seems like a nice park for kids to hang out and play on the multiple slides. Review #2130

The park has a shelter, but there are no picnic tables under it, nor grills near it. The park does have a private parking lot and a short but decent paved trail along one side of it. The trail is about a quarter mile, one way, and I guess would be suitable for walking or a lite jog. The park also has a playground area that is on a bed of wood chips. It does not have much equipment though. You will find a medium sized jungle gym with metal slides, a sliding pole, monkey rings, and bridges. There is also a metal spiral slide and a bank of traditional/toddler swings. The park is not short on green space. It has a decent sized field that is suitable for activities such as a football or baseball game, playing catch, flying a kite, having a picnic or just running around. The park seems relatively well maintained (meaning the grass was cut). However, there was a bunch of trash around the playground area. This park is not a destination park and most of it visitors are probably from the adjacent neighborhood. With the lack of benches, restroom, picnic tables and water fountains, I found this park pretty unenthusiastic to say the least.

It wasn't being used, so I can only guess what it might be for. Not sure if they do tractor pulls or some type of animal related events here, but it seems like a lot of cost if it's not being used for some form of entertainment. Review #2440
