One advantage of the large store is that you can take the prams for a little test run round the store before you buy. The store also offers a top discount for penny pinching yummy mummys, in that if you pay up front for stuff (which is the same as buying online, an option which many expectant mothers prefer) they give you 15% off the main price. Babyworld's prices are the same on average as most of the other leading baby shops like Mothercare, so they won't sneakily up the price before they knock 15% off. Another advantage of this store is that they can store everything for you so you don't need to worry about taking it with you either and cluttering up your home just yet.

They seem to stock all the essentials for a new born baby, the place is jam packed with Cots (both traditional and modern) and prams. Pricewise, as the name suggests, is slightly different. They focus more on cheaper prices and cheaper stock. Which is quite refreshing to an extent. They have all the usual items, such as clothing, blankets, sheets, toys (good for Christmas), prams, highchairs, etc etc. And I must say that the majority of stuff is pretty good and very nice. I was surprised however to see one large section of the bottom floor devoted to Halloween costumes, but I guess kids have to get costumes somewhere, so why not here. The decorations are really nice and they cover things like thermometers, coat hangers, boarders, cushions, pictures, linen, and furniture and everything in between! Until I found Funky Bedrooms. Funky Bedrooms is located rather awkwardly right on the bend where the Holywood Road meets the Newtownards Road. Luckily you can sneak into the car park behind it which I think is really for the health centre. It's filled with all manner of cute and lovely things for babies and younger children's bedrooms. Think gingham, boats and dinosaurs for boys and butterflies, flowers and hearts for girls. And cowboys for boys too. I scored a fab cowboy storage bag and bean bag which look just perfect. Not the cheapest at £40 ish each but well made and, as the sign says, funky. They also do loads of practical stuff like prams, cots, maternity clothes, changing bags and potties. Upstairs they have staged lots of nurseries to give you ideas of what to buy and how lovely it could look. The one qualm I have with Mama's and Papa's is the prices. They really do charge above and beyond for things you could pick up much cheaper in Mothercare or Babies R Us. It's pretty good for one off things that they have exclusively but if you're kitting out for the first baby you don't want to be spending more than you have to! I love coming in for a look though! Something very warm and cosy about the store!

Well those are all people who shop at places like Kiddy Junior. It is the high end of the market when it comes to paraphernalia for babies and toddlers. Its all the different looking stuff that some yummy mummies like to have and of course it is all beautiful. The prices are high but you are getting a good quality product which is practical, modern and funky. My sister, her one year old and I walked in, had one quick look about and then walked out again. We had to leave because our credit cards started to cry really loudly.

While the stock itself is really great I found the prices a little higher than you'd pay in town a few miles down the road. Although this is often the case on the Lisburn road being in close proximity to the wealthier Malone Road residents. However you would find a few different items here than say to Mothercare or Mama's and Papa's so it's certainly worth a visit! Just make sure you're credit card is topped up!
