What a terrible experience! I was moving from Wilmington to Atlanta - not far at all, but I might…read moreas well have been relocating to Guatemala for all the havoc that ensued over the course of months dealing with these very unsophisticated, unreliable people. PACK/MOVE: They arrive and just start randomly packing things and not stickering/labeling the boxes. The lead guy tells us he'll sticker but not to worry because our stuff will be kept together. He couldn't even tell me if they were packed from the kitchen, bathroom, or living room. So I asked them to start labeling the boxes like any normal moving company would. They appeared to comply after that, but later when I reported stuff missing, the company was very quick to point out that the things I mentioned were not on the inventory sheet. Once they drive off after loading, I go downstairs and there is one of our wardrobe boxes in the lobby area of the condo! WTF! I call the driver and he makes his way back to pick it up. The driver was pretty nice, and he said our stuff was in good hands - he'd be the one delivering our stuff, so we could trust him. This was Friday. He said he'd be leaving for Atlanta in the next day or two, so we should have our delivery Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week. Our move was pre-paid, and was very expensive. I say this, because I believe that decisions were made without regard to customer service because the money was already in their pockets. Monday arrives and I call the moving company to ask when they will arrive, and the dispatch lady says they won't have a truck available to deliver until over a week away. I tell her that the driver told me he was going to Atlanta, and her reply was "That's not his job to tell you where he is or isn't going." After much back and forth, she tells me that the only day they can deliver is 10 days away. I look at our building's scheduler and see that the freight elevator is booked that one day. It's open every single day that week except for the one day. I let the mover know this, and she tells me that if I can't arrange that one day... then the next available day for delivery is three weeks later. So, long story short, they hold our goods hostage FOR OVER A MONTH!!! Remember, it's only a six hour drive away. The truth is that this company is greedy and didn't want to deliver our goods until they could fill an 18-wheeler... and not too many people are leaving Wilmington on a regular basis, so they lie to us and keep our things as long as they want while they try to drum up extra business. Awful, horrible experience. DELIVERY- A MONTH LATER! Regarding that 18-wheeler they were trying to fill? Our building explicitly told them they couldn't bring such a large truck to our building. They do it anyway and try to squeeze into the loading dock, almost wrecking the plumbing pipes overhead. I have to go out there and tell them they have to park where they can fit, which means they have to walk our goods up a ramp instead of using the loading dock. The driver comes in the condo with an "invoice" for over $4000 demanding that we need to pay before they can bring our things in. I tell him we've already paid for the move, and show him the transaction receipt. It takes him an hour to reach the company to confirm that what I am showing him is true. Once they start to unload, the driver tells me I don't have to look at the boxes because I will have ninety days to report anything missing or damaged. I ask him if he's sure about that, because it seems weird to me and his exact words are "This is a good company; they take care of their customers." Yeah, right. The rest of the unload is fine other than having to Lysol everything to get rid of funky mover smell. We settle in over the next few days and start noticing missing things. A vase, a pizza stone, boxes of business documents... plus broken wine glasses that were hastily packed, punctured artwork because it wasn't wrapped and more. It takes me days to get routed to the claims department, and numerous phone calls. They tell me they are looking for the missing items, but I know they didn't... they probably smashed the vase, and since it wasn't labeled, just figured it wasn't their concern. The claims woman was beyond helpless. She sends me a form to fill out, which I do in great detail. All told, over $1000 in damage. After weeks of "review" I get an email from her with an offer for a settlement of $137. No apology, no admission of incompetence. Nothing. Just a lot of "not included in your inventory sheet." I'm sharing so that others don't make the mistake of listening to empty promises. Get everything in writing before writing the check and MAKE THEM take the time to go through inventory with you, both on the pack/move and delivery side. Make sure EVERY box is labeled. Sure, it might take an hour, and the mover might not want to do it, but it is the only way to protect yourself, since this industry is rife with cheats and crooks.

Poorly executed move and too costly. Still owe me for damages (less than $500) and have stopped…read morecommunicating with me. I even paid the extra fees for full coverage on a move totaling over $10K and they haven't paid a cent back or made any effort to repair.
