The gentleman who was behind the desk even went out of his way to make me waffles in the morning. It was very unexpected, but very much appreciated. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but I will definitely stay here again if I'm through these parts.

The hotel is centrally located and we were able to walk around town including over the foot bridge at the river. We just stayed here overnight on our way back south. I was looking at flights back home every day but didn't want to leave him alone there. Rooms were disgusting dirty. Towels were not clean, sheets had stains. Room was full of bugs and I would have to kill bugs every day and sometimes wake up during the night to bug crawling in my ear (started wearing earplugs to avoid them getting in). The cleaners were the laziest ever, they would come and "clean" which meant they would switch towels and "make" the beds and not even take trash out every time even though it was completely full. That's why there would be trash bags on the hallway almost every day as other occupants probably had the same problem. Some of my partners colleague told that their sheets never even got changed in two weeks.. bathroom was never properly cleaned and they had someone's old soap in the shower when we arrived.. The pool area I would not go to even if someone paid me $10000 for it. It looked so unhygienic like everything else in the "hotel" (motels are even better often). Breakfast was a big joke and I wouldn't eat more than slice of toast there since it didn't look hygienic either and yogurts for example were on the table for full 3 hours without keeping them in the cold and were most likely put back to the fridge after standing in the warm temperature for hours.. Oh and last but not least, the WIFI is a JOKE. Guy can barely do anything with it. We used all of our mobile data and had to top it up few times too since you wouldn't be able to do anything with the WiFi in the rooms.. they even advertise high speed internet, BS!! There are many better options in Quesnel so do yourself a favor and do not stay here!!

The room they put my sons and dog in had a full kitchenette, was clean, and comfortable. My daughter and I had a mini fridge and microwave, but our room was just as nice. When I checked in, Aysha was working the front desk and the first thing she told me was that there had been a water main break and while we couldn't drink the water, they had bottled water for all guests. She also advised the water was blackish/grey, but had been deemed safe for bathing. All of that aside, if we wanted to cancel our reservations, they understood and there were no penalties. We chose to stay. I didn't shower, but the room was nice and comfortable. We slept well and we will stay here again on our way back home. Backstory: Pet-friendly room prices were inflated and then we were charged an additional pet fee (which is typical). When we booked the room, due to the inflated price, we assumed the pet fee was included. When I contacted customer service, they said it's because there was a kitchen. The kitchen rooms were $85, pet friendly was $119... just be cognizant when booking the room.

We were told they had a room so I asked to see it based on other reviews before checking in. Immediately the clerk (owner?) said "you go down the road , there are cheaper motels". I was aghast, noting price wasn't an issue, cleanliness IS. And if he didn't trust us ( a mid-fifties, retired couple) he should accompany us to show it. He was adamant that we go elsewhere. I was mortified and incensed and completely embarrassed at being told to leave a Super 8. I will never stay at a Super 8 property in the future based on this one experience! Note: Did try down the road at the Billy Barker Hotel and had a lovely, comfortable stay.

The hotel was cheap and that's about the only positive thing. Cheap was what we were looking for on this particular trip so it was fine. We would most likely stay at a different hotel in the area next time.
