Not so much: Seats along wall uncomfortable. My back lasts about 20 minutes at most. In pain now as I type this, in fact. So don't sit there if you want to hang out. Most tables are tiny. So, for me at least, nice to stop in for a quick coffee and bite. Not to relax or read or anything.

With outstanding espresso and regular coffees as well as high-quality baked goods, Simon's is usually my top choice for a stolen hour of reading, latte in hand, for fika with a friend I haven't seen in a while, or simply just for people watching on Storgatan. Their candle-lit tables and animal-skin-clad benches make it a cozy spot even when it is packed with people. And Simon's makes the best coffee in town. Simon's roasts their own coffees (weekly, I think!) in their roaster that's in the back of the cafe--and the freshness and knowledge of coffee shows. Both the regular "bryggkaffe" (filtered coffee) and the espresso are excellent, and there is usually a choice of blends for the bryggkaffe. Simon's also sells bags of their beans--the "Nordic Morning" blend is my favorite for everyday morning coffee, while some of the special edition beans (like the Ethiopian or Kenyan varietals he has had in the past) have been amazing. This year's Julkaffe (a Colombian bean) was perhaps my favorite coffee *ever.* The bullar (sweet buns), breads, and pastries are all excellent. Some of my favorites include the kardemummabulle, the mazarin, the apple cake, and the lemon meringue tartlet. The caprese (tomato-mozzarella) macka (sandwich) is crazy good--I have barely tried any other lunch items because I am addicted to that one! But my husband has had several of the salads and larger sandwiches on their menu and has loved them all. Additionally, Simon's serves kombucha, smoothies and freshly pressed juices, and healthier breakfasts like chia pudding. If you can be there early for lunch (say, ca 11.30) on a Wednesday, don't miss the special sourdough, thin-crust pizzas! Pizzaonsdagar are a special treat at Simon's and only last till all the dough has run out--so going early is a must. Simon's is tied with Babette's for my favorite cafe in Linköping, even though they are quite different in terms of emphasis and atmosphere. Babette's is much larger and has a more shabby chic feeling; Simon's is more Scandi-industrial-modern. Both are cozy and both make outstanding bullar (sweet buns), breads, and pastries. You can't go wrong with either, so have two fikas in Linköping and try them both!

Cute cafe! I love the interior decor! The food was pretty darn good and tasted homemade. I ordered…read morethe standard Swedish lunch Paj with Vasterbotten cheese and what came wasn't standard, but above average! It was a BIG piece of Paj with a deliciously homemade and thick crust. The side salad was fresh and delicious and just had a little extra luxuriousness to it than your average cafe Paj and salad plate. The whole menu was a pretty classic mix of Swedish lunch style dishes, but the salad bar and fika options looked really great too! I was really really tempted to eat one of those "snickers bites", but I somehow managed to hold back. I was also really happy to find Johan and Nyström coffee here, which is always tasty and awesome! Surprisingly, they also have a few beers and wine available! Something that is usually missing at your typical neighborhood cafe! Which makes this place perfect for an after work meet up, before they close at 8pm. The whole place was really super packed with people when we went. I was told that in the summer, the outdoor seating is always totally full too! That's gotta be a sign that it's a good cafe, right?! I highly suggest getting a table before you go up to order. There were a few open tables while we were giving our order, but people came and took them before getting in line behind us. We had nowhere to sit when our food came! We finally made some chick move her stroller so we could sit at a hidden window bar (literally the last available space.) However, I was really glad to find an open lunch spot on a Sunday during the holiday weekend! A lot of other places in Norrköping were closed that day. Which, may account for some of the chaos. Highly recommend this place! It felt like a polished Stockholm cafe with all the small town charm of Norrköping!
