Super place to get a drink by the beach and party it up with the 20 somethings! The location, literally a few steps across the street from the beach, is perfect for gearing down or winding up on the weekend. To gear down, perhaps from a day of fun in the sun, look for a table closest to the beach side. The music is less loud, more of an ocean breeze, and a better view for bikini (uhhh people) watching. To wind up, grab you a seat near the DJ, shake that tailfeather (that's right I went there lol), mingle, and play a game of Cornhole. To go along with the cool scenery, the drinks were good and priced reasonably considering the location. Cocktails generally run from $8-$11. During my two visits, I did not order any food. I have heard (so take this with a grain of salt) that the food is hit or miss. I did glance at the menu and "bar food" immediately jogged through my mind. But my 5 star rating is focused on the excellent location and party atmosphere. If you are nearby on the beach during the day, Sandbar is a definite must to check out. Like I said above, awesome place to chill out or pump it up heading into the evening/night. The decor is reminiscent of the name Sandbar. Sand on the floor under a Tiki Bar setting. Waitresses are all bikini clad blending in to the ocean side scene (I'm using the word "blending" loosely here lol). I found the waitresses to be nice and efficient the two times I visited. When looking back on my two visits, I can't speak of any real negatives. So if you are on Delray Beach during the day, stop in Sandbar and turn up or even turn it down! read more

You can't charge country club prices if you're going to have a strip club atmosphere. Sadly, this highly anticipated beach bar has been nothing but a disappointment. I'll be shocked if they last through the year. It's seems like there are a few greedy people behind the scenes not understanding the area. Delray is laid back, dog-friendly (Boston's has a dog menu for crying out loud!), and generally on the lower-end of high-end. Granted, the Ave has some price places, but nowhere that you look at your bill and wonder how many dishes you'll have to wash to pay off a few beers. The servers are outfitted in tacky, tasteless outfits (yes, nice tat.. now cover up, please) and the whole place seems to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. read more

We had the worst experience at this place. It was so loud. unnecessarily so. Furthermore, we ordered a strawberry Mojito which was not only expensive but was literally just seltzer and the alcohol. Nothing was muddled at all. There was no mint or strawberry flavor at all. It was a disgraceful mojito for a place in South Florida. They should be ashamed of themselves. Been here a few times. It's a nice fun atmosphere on A1A which is awesome. Came for happy hour after work. Had some smoked fish dip & chicken lolipops. Both were good. Half priced drinks and appetizers is always a good thing. The server was also really nice and friendly. read more

Every time my daughter (who lives in Paris) comes to visit we have to go to the Sandbar. It's like eating on the beach with sand beneath our feet. The food is typical bar type food which works well when you want to have a small bite and a nice, refreshing cocktail. Most importantly, the sea view of the waves crashing on shore. Had a couple of good afternoons at this place until today when my 27 year old daughter and her boyfriend came to meet me and my wife from the beach. She did not have her ID with her so they would not let her in. Even though she had been there the previous two days and both of her parents were there. Matt the doorman was very unreasonable if not rude. The manager, Latino gentleman did not give his name, wasn't helpful at all. I could understand if they didn't serve her alcohol but they wouldn't even let her stay. I think this place would benefit with someone with a higher level of intelligence and professionalism managing it. We all left. read more

This establishment is a joke. Sorry for you if you go there. The service is awful. Not friendly at alll. Managers are full of themselves. Never will come in here again. Hospitality industry establishments should be about the customer and should show excellent customer service and they don't know what that is. Was told they know how everything is prepared so An order can't be wrong. If a customer is unhappy and paying they should be accommodating. Overpriced and not accommodating is a no for me. Wow. This place is awful. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday and my friend was clearly wearing a birthday sash. Not only did the waitress, Kathy, try to scam us out of a couple dollars, but the manager encouraged it and did not give us the time of day. The checks were way overly charged and they refused to fix them. It was a $2 difference, we asked 3 times to get it to fixed & still no result. After asking for the checks to be fixed, the manager walked away without clarifying the issue. So the checks were over-charged AND the drinks were so watered down. Left the restaurant after 2.5 hours and four drinks sober and ridiculously unsatisfied. Could go on and on about the disrespectful service, but have already wasted almost 3 hours at this place. read more

I really wanted to like this place since it's right across from the beach and it is the theme but the poor service and so so food just didn't cut it. It's a nice place and you really feel like you're right at the beach but that's about it. We waited quite a while till someone came over to us even though about 10 employees walked by us many times. We ordered apps off the happy hour menu, the chicken lollipops and conch fritters. The chicken was ok and fritters were not. We might try to go again with our friends but there are too many really good places I'd rather go to. read more

What can I say about a bar located directly across the street from Delray Beach? That's a good start, location, location, location! But it is more than that... it is one of my mandatory motorcycle stops in Delray for libations on a hot South Florida day. It has a sandy floor throughout and palm leaf covered bars to keep you cool as you consume adult beverages. The crowd is definitely young but friendly. The bar tenders and waitresses are fairly fast and aim to please. There is plenty of parking nearby and has direct access to the beach. Drink prices are in the touristy range (medium to high prices) and food is reasonably priced. So when you need a beach front full service bar and are still in your flip-flops and salty-wet skivvies, Sandbar can hook you up. Sunblock anyone? read more

I visited the sandbar for the first time last week attending a company get together. There is a lot to like about this place. It is directly across from the ocean. The decor is as beach theme as you could make it, with the servers in bikinis. The service was fast and friendly. I did not eat so I have no comment on the food. Even though all seemed perfect the price charged here for a divey atmosphere, trumps all of the good. I drank beers. Bud light. I received a tab of 40 dollars. Plus parking fee. Ok I guess if you visit here only on special occasions, and you are aware of being ripped of financialy, then this is a very cool place. Probably could give 4 stars but cost brings 3. read more

First off, as you walk into the establishment, you're greeted with many signs, "No Cigars", "No Pets", etc... Drinks are Vegas expensive & watered down (we sent 2 back). The bouncer made both me and my cousin show him multiple credit cards with our names to match our I.D because he claimed our I.D didn't look like us. Seemed very sketchy. What a fun place right off the beach! There is plenty of seating - at the bar, in chairs, lounges and tables. There is a nice water feature and lawn games. The DJ was excellent! There were good drink specials, and the food I saw coming out looked and smelled good. Parking is a bit of a struggle though... so prepare to use valet, Uber, or walk! read more

I don't know what's up with all the bad reviews but we've went to a Sandbar 5 times during our visit to Florida and every time it was great. All the drinks were tasty and came out fast, the food was way better than an average bar food, I don't understand why people expect a gourmet meals in the beach bar, everything we ate was pretty solid. Service was great, there is a valet parking at the back, the music is good and the bathrooms were clean. You should come visit California, where everything is closed and you have to wear masks at all times. read more

I love going to places in my own town that make me feel like I'm on vacation, and Sandbar gave me that exact feeling. With tiki bars and sand everywhere, this place immediately transports you to paradise. The atmosphere is very laid back and casual. You can show up in sandals and shorts on a Saturday night and not feel underdressed, which is perfect when you just want to unwind and have a few drinks with friends. The drinks are strong and cheap. No need to worry about paying $15 for a mixed drink here. The only issue is the parking. I must've circled the area three times before I found a spot, and yet, I still had to walk a good five to six blocks to reach Sandbar; however, this minor issue won't keep me from coming here again. It really is such a chill place and you have the beach directly across the street. What more could you ask for? read more

Our group of friends come to Sandbar the Friday that begins Memorial Day Weekend every year. This would be our 4th year doing this. It is the kickoff of the summer as far as I am concerned. We do it for several reasons but the #1 reason is location. It is across the street from the beach. When you sit at the Sandbar you can feel the evening breeze. It is quite amazing. Growing up here in South Florida, I love the beach but I digress. The manager who has always been very gracious to us set us up again at the front bar closest to the street, gave us our own bartender and gave us a drink special and extended our appetizer special until 8pm. The GM has been with the Sandbar since its inception and greeted me by name when he saw me. That meant a lot to me since he sees lots of people every day. I got there early around 5:30 and would highly recommend that you do that. People are just getting off work so it is not that crowded and it is great for people watching. I sat at the bar and struck up a conversation with some nice people. It is a relaxing environment. My friends started to show up around 6. The happy hour at Sandbar ends at 7pm. The prices of the drinks after 7pm from what everyone was telling me skyrockets. Although we had about 75 friends show up to spend time with us, at about 8:30, 50% left to go to other establishments in the area. We did have a slight misunderstanding with one of the daily drink specials. One of the servers said that the Margarita was the $4 special but in fact something different. When I said Margarita I wasn't corrected by the staff. So I would attribute that to 50% my fault. Several of my friends weren't happy when they got their bills thinking the drinks were $4 but in reality they were $7. Other than that one misunderstanding the night was successful. Last night couldn't have been a more beautiful night. I did notice though that the Sandbar was very empty after 9pm. For a Friday night on a Memorial Day Weekend you would think more people would hang out there but then again they are competing with Atlantic Avenue. I would go to Sandbar again and I will most likely have my friends meet me there on a weeknight for drinks and soaking in the sea breeze. You just can't buy that atmosphere. . read more

Great location right on the A1A across from the beach, next to Boston's. I really liked the vibe here, the music, the good service (even the bouncers were nice!), and the drinks. Try the Corona-Rita -- a blended margarita with an upside-down Corona in it. Fantastic! The food is bar food but waaaaaay more expensive than typical bar food AND they don't have french fries. That was a disappointment for my husband, but the ambiance of just being outside and enjoying the Florida sunshine across from the beach really can't be beat. They do have happy hour here during the week, from 3 to 6pm. During happy hour, bottled beer and wine is $1 off, and they had some other specials that I missed. Definitely the place to go for a good day of day drinking or happy hour with an ocean view. Self seating, food music playing, cornhole, etc. The food is standard bar food. We had wings and conch fritters. Wings were great, the conch fritters needed more conch. Drinks were delicious. Wait staff does need to know what promotions are going on. I went for the anniversary party. When we asked our waitress the itinerary for the day and when the liquor tasting started, she had no idea and suggested we go ask the ppl setting up. Also need to work on shift change. Our waitress brought our check, though we didn't ask for it, because she was getting off and wanted her tip. That part wasn't a big deal as some restaurants do that, but after she cashed us out she didn't send over another waitress.
