I still can't talk about Katrina without crying and maybe that's just me. I am admittedly a sappy fool, though. I wanted to visit this gallery specifically for the artist's series of portraits of people in the aftermath of Katrina. They are haunting, sobering and tear inducing. I waited till the end to look this set and good thing I did. She's brilliantly talented and I love her depictions of the south so much. But I left in tears. If you can feel a person's emotions in a photo or painting...that's powerful stuff ladies and gentlemen. Very powerful.

Wolfe Fine Art Studio is a local gem here in Jackson. A local art studio that has been open and…read moreoperating for over 70 years with the same principals that the owners founded the studio on. Famous for making uniquely beautiful pottery in the shapes of birds and bunnies, these pieces are truly one of a kind. Each piece is handmade on site. I have been gifted a trio of the birds and they really are very special. I will always be reminded of Jackson every time I look at them. The studio is open to the public to shop from 10am-5pm Monday-Friday and is open for limited hours on Saturday as well. The pieces range from approximately $30-$300+. The people that work there are very friendly and can help you if you have any questions. The entrance to the store is on a sort of hidden drive but there is a sign that says Wolfe Fine Art Studio, so keep your eyes peeled!

This is street and lot parking in the vicinity so there shouldn't be much issues in that area. Great location for a solo outing or a date in my opinion.
