I was on Isla Mujeres for my wedding. Been there a few times. Love the island. This was our first time going to Samura. We had a party of 8. We had high hopes. The ambiance was great. The trouble started as soon as we sat down. Red flag warning #1: The floor of the restaurant is sand. Everyone in our party was getting bit by insects. So much so that the waiters walk around with bug spray. Red flag warning #2: all of our meals came out separately. That's right. 8 meals. One after the other. No one got any food that required them to cook it. Our dinner took 3 hours. Red flag warning #3: the salads were the last thing to come out. Their seaweed salad was served over iceberg lettuce. This is not the way a seaweed salad should be served. . Fun part: they give everyone sparklers and play "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond. If you're going to this place and you have 3 hours to waste then by all means have at it. But if you'd rather spend your time exploring the island, head on over to one of the many other sushi places on the island that actually serve your food before the sun comes up.

The ambiance and vibe are unmatched! The service is great and the staff will make sure you have a good time. The portions are HUGE. We orders two rolls and three orders of nigiri and it was enough food for four people.

Beautiful restaurant and their sushi and service was so good! Will be back again when we return to Isla Mujeres!

Fried shrimp appetizer - amazing

Loud, fun, energetic atmosphere here! It's truly the coolest restaurant I've ever been to. There's no better atmosphere than this place. If you don't like the party vibe with loud music, this is not the place for you. It was extremely loud with the live DJ playing. I'd suggest making a reservation online on their website before coming. We ended up being sat outside of the cool jungle area next to a speaker, and the hostess was kind enough to move us into the main area. The fried shrimp appetizer was absolutely the best I've ever had. The menu was all digital, and their wifi was out, so we had to borrow an iPad to see the menu. I wish they'd had a few paper menus just in case. For birthdays, they pass around sparklers to all the guests which was really fun. I'd love to come back one day and try more delicious food!

Walked to this place from our hotel in Cancun centro. You can either eat on an outside dining patio or inside. We opted for inside in the AC. we started with drinks and ordered the rock shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was very good with a lime soy sauce dipping sauce. We ordered two rolls to split for dinner. We got a warmed panko roll and the dynamite roll. Was surprised the panko roll was warm but was very good. The dynamite roll was also good. Both rolls the fish was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was great and provided great service.

This place was so cool! I recommend going later in the day so it's not as hot because it's all outside, but they have a lot of fans that make it pretty bearable! It's expensive for Mexico, but not any more expensive than sushi in the US. I loved the friend shrimp- it was bomb. My grandma got the shrimp tempura and it was a huge portion and delicious too. The service was amazing- our waiter was really nice and patient.

Jorge was a very entertaining and pleasant chef. And the food was some of the best hibachi I've ever had! The outdoor vibe and decor (especially the giant tree and hanging lights) was so inviting and jived w the island spirit. Samura definitely did not disappoint!!! Highly recommended.

LOVE this place! Beautiful ambiance, great food, DJ music and an overall great experience. This was my favorite place on the island. Don't miss this place. I'm definitely coming back.

Samura is located towards the south end of Isla Mujeres, away from the hustle and bustle in a jungle like setting. Lanterns hang from the tree canopy above and create a warm ambiance. All the while friendly ducks mingle with the patrons. This is the setting for an unforgettable experience! Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated at a hibachi table. Our chef, Jorge greeted us and took the time to get to know us and share a little about himself. Then the show began! From the broccoli toss to the flaming volcano, Jorge was quite the entertainer. He made us our very own chef hats and he even let me try my hand at catching the egg and cracking it on the spatula. Jorge went on to make us an incredible ribeye and fresh lobster dinner. He kept us entertained the entire time! He's an absolute gem! I also want to take a minute to mention our server, Fernando. He made sure we had everything we needed the entire evening. And not to forget Carlos! This young gentleman cleared our dishes and was kind of enough to box up our leftovers. As we left, several employees thanked us for our patronage. What a wonderful group of people who all played a part in this unforgettable experience! From start to finish, Samura was one of a kind and we highly recommend putting this on your Isla Mujeres must do list!

Apparently people are getting free drinks to give good reviews. The place is beautiful. That's it, after that it went downhill. The mosquitos are horrible but the staff has bug spray. The music was loud but all that wouldn't matter if the food was good. Then the food took forever to arrive, not all at once of course, we had to wait for a long time for some dishes. The miso soup was extremely salty, I added a 3/4 cup of water and it was still salty, the Pad Thai didn't have any noodles and it didn't taste like Pad Thai, the sushi rolls were very basic, not tasty, more like plain California rolls, the grilled octopus was not grilled and it wasn't completely cooked, it was chewy. At some point they bring you some sparklers which is nice but that doesn't make up for bad food and bad service.

OMG this place is nothing short of amazing. Beautiful atmosphere and the food is to die for. We all shared several sushi rolls, mongolian beef, wagu beef, and ribey and asparagus and all if it was amazing. Staff was great all in all 10 out of ten I want to bring all my friends here

Amazing service and pretty good sushi. The vibe was everything. Super cute date & the prices were fair for the ambiance. I loved the toro I had to grab it twice. Salmon was on point too

Beautiful outdoor sushi spot! And also the best sushi on the island. Only downside was the mosquitos lol I think they had some Off spray you could use, so they're prepared food was wonderful as well as the drinks. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Isla Mujeres.

Hamachi and Salmon sashimi. Hamachi jalapeño roll, salmon avocado roll.
