This was my first visit and I had stopped at a location further down the concourse called The Local. After the waitress walked past me three times without saying a word, I left and found the Brewhouse. My Beef and Blue salad was good and the salad dressing was very flavorful. I decided to stop in while waiting to be picked up and the service is subpar. The bartenders were clearly rude except to the table of gentlemen sitting next to me. The clam chowder is a heated up bag of soup. It might almost be better than the service. I am disappointed in the lack of at least a smile but who knows, maybe it was an off day. I order draft beers and you can't go wrong with beer so that earned a second star. I don't recommend for food but beer is beer. read more

I had really high hopes. I am a fan of Sam Adams beer. So my husband and I stopped here for some food before our flight. The drinks were good. I had the cherry wheat beer and he had a tall boy of tea/lemonade drink from a can. The beer had a lot of extra cherry flavor. I couldn't figure it out at first, but there was a maraschino cherry in the bottom of the glass. Not sure how I feel about that. It was ok? The food was not good. He had the burger- not great (especially with smash burger right there!). I had the chili nachos. They were not good. THE CHILI WAS COLD. Cold chili in Cincinnati?! Even warm it wouldn't have been great tasting chili. It wasn't even luke warm people! I also got some dried nacho cheese skins- ya know, from when the nacho cheese sits too long and dries out on top. Avoid. The food options at this terminal are rough, and this is no exception. I'd recommend picking up food on your way to the airport if at all possible, because being hungry at CVG is rough (other than Graeter's, of course). We ordered three meals to go before a flight, and the main saving grace of our experience was a friendly waitress who hurried our order since we were taking off shortly (thank you!). The food was mediocre at best. The pulled pork sandwich was definitely better than the turkey club, which was filled with bad-quality deli meat and came with soggy potato chips. After taking our food back to our gate, I returned a couple of minutes later and asked a different waitress for two cups of water. She didn't stop walking when I asked politely for her help and was not welcoming. Really rubbed me the wrong way. However, the food is fine, and for some reason or another, I typically find my flight gate in this wing and so instead of stuffing a Subway meal down my throat, I will sample some of the grub here. I have had the soup (forget what kind, probably chicken noodle) and brownie dessert and I believe something else food wise. Service is fine and attentive. If you have the time, this place is an ok choice and considering the open "windows" you can sit there and people watch (the BEST part about waiting in an airport) for a long time. Hubby, daughter, and I ate here pre-flight since we had some time before our flight. Daughter had the burger and fries which she claimed was very tasty. Hubby had a caesar salad with chicken. Pretty standard. I had a sandwich. I cannot recall what kind, which tells me that it was not memorable. What I do remember is sitting at a table for four near the kitchen. AND, a worker with a cart came by several times to take food outside of the restaurant. It was a metal, noisy, obnoxious cart :o( AND, when the lone waitress was cleaning up a nearby table, while she was moving a wooden highchair she banged it right into my chair. Waited 40 minutes for them to tell me they were out of what I ordered. And it would be some unknown amount of time for a new order.

We were killing time and stopped in Sam Adams for a few beers. Our waitress named Jackie quickly seated us, thankfully the last table she had and she was working very hard. She served us quickly two very cold large glasses of Bud Light. Airport prices so $5 a piece is average and the glasses for larger than normal. Having been a waiter in my earlier years, I can give fives stars to Jackie. She was fast and fun. We enjoyed three more each before heading to our flight.....When I went to pay, I paid with a hundred, she asked if I had another $100 bill that this one did not have the security line embedded in the bill which is a quick way to tell if it could be counterfeit. I was shocked for I had taken the $100 bill in through my bed and breakfast business and now realized maybe someone had passed a fake bill on to me as payment. I totally apologized and pulled out a newer $100 bill, which was proven to have the security mark line and real. We left a 25% tip because she deserved it, even though I felt like a unexpected bum cheater unknowingly trying to pay with a possible fake bill. As a waiter myself, I remember checking bills for the security line also as a way to tell if it may be counterfeit, so it must be fake. We headed down toward the gate, in a few minutes a gentleman said, the lady at Sam Adams is looking for you, you left your jacket and envelope of money in it....I retrieved it and once again was happy she looked out for me. Anyway my late night flight was cancelled and as I waited for the Holiday Inn shuttle to our comped room from US Air, Jakie passed me waiting in the cold rain, and again said she was sorry I was having such a rough day, I had buried my father, flights from hell, then a possible counterfeit bill I had taken in. She even offered us a ride to the Inn on her way home, outstanding lady she is. I got back to Fort Lauderdale today and took the $100 bill to the bank where they verified it was a real $100 bill, they also informed me that the treasury department did not start putting the security lines in the $100 bills until after the early nineties, my $100 bill was a 1988. Relieved and happy, but I had learned a valuable lesson and thanks to Jackie.Even though my bill was real, I must start checking every $100 bill for authenticity when guest pay their bill in cash. I was very hungry waiting for my flight, and when I looked on Yelp to help me make a decision, I was extremely disappointed. I had to pick among a bunch of places with less-than-ok reviews. The first place I decided to go to was called local and I waited several minutes to get seated, was ignored, and decided it wasn't meant to be. Went to this place, hoping to just get a drink and something to eat. I was already not expecting anything good based on the existing review. Anyway, I got the mozzarella/roasted vegetables salad, and after I ordered it I felt sad because I immediately thought I should have at least ordered something warm. Well, when the food came out I could not believe my eyes. The roasted vegetables looked great, cheese was great, and I was very happy with my choice. It was relatively healthy and delicious. I have never in my life been treated as badly as my coworkers and I were today at this restaurant. The waitress (a middle aged, overweight, blonde woman with glasses) treated our group like garbage. From throwing straws down on the table to saying the burgers there were awful (i think to make us leave), to extremely slow service, to the topping on the cake of her actually yelling at one of my coworkers for wanting to change her order. We ended up cancelling our order and leaving. And then after multiple requests to see the manager with no one showing up in the 30 minutes we waited....
