Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were invited by some friends to join them for the 5pm service on Saturday. (They like the guy who was preaching). We got to the church before them so we walked around. It is certainly a place where you can get involved if you want. They have programs for all kinds of activities and groups. The church is modern, upbeat, and dare I say 'hip'? If you're looking for a group of people wearing their Sunday best and a gray-haired organist playing 8 verses of Amazing Grace, you're at the wrong church (which was pointed out to us by an old timer who was using the excuse his back hurt to leave so he could hang outside while his wife attended the service.) The minister we came to see did deliver a good sermon. It had enthusiasm, passion, sincerity and humor. It wasn't laced with a lot of bible quotes or hellfire. It was delivered to teach, inspire and encourage. If I was looking for a Christian church, this would certainly be one I'd consider.

But, the space is actually quite nice to play in. The church also has some nice outdoor patio areas that you can wander around for peace and quiet, as well as a coffee shop run by volunteers. For someone that usually abhors anything that could possibly fall into the categories of "newly constructed, "suburban," or "church," I really didn't mind coming out here. It's a pain to get here from the city though, dangerously close to 290 which, if you take it, will surely end miserably. At 10:30 at night, maybe. But any other time, seek an alternate route.

And I haven't even mentioned the weekly worship times. Always a biblically based solid teaching with wonderfully lead worship music. Whether you like a more traditional service or one with jazz, bluegrass, and worship tunes, you will find it here. I usually don't talk up a church too much but honestly, if you haven't been to church in a while, you might want to check them out. I think you might find Jesus in this place.

One of the points he made is that some people hold onto the old ways of the Church; some parish even celebrate the Trent mass (i.e., Tridentine). But that mass has only (per Fr. Donnelly) been around since the Council of Trent (INCORRECT). He seemed of the opinion, which he shared with the noon mass parishioners in what he might consider a homily, that Latin mass was eliminated or superseded by Vatican II (ALSO INCORRECT) but some folks are still trying to hold onto it. I'll never step foot in this parish again.

Approximately 1 hour, with fellowship and light refreshments served afterwards. Children are welcome to sit in the pews with their parents during mass, however there is a small informal Sunday School available. The service is a choral Eucharist in the style of the Tridentine form. Congregation: The congregation is small, about 20 people, but it is warm and like a small family. Anyone who approaches with reverence may receive communion. There is no restriction with regards to background or religious affiliation. Clergy: ALL CLERGY ARE VOLUNTEER, they are not paid by the church. This parish has two priests and a Deaconess, and 3 altar servers. Sacraments: The Liberal Catholic Church's has a valid Apostolic Succession and administers valid Catholic Sacraments. This is not meant as an insult as I know everyone has their own experiences and perspectives, and I appreciate how faith and religious practice are very personal to each individual. I immediately appreciated the welcome I received when I attended for the first time. Much of the service reminded me of the services I attended in my childhood, which is different than the Roman Catholic services of today. I continued to attend and learned so much that was not taught in the years I attended Catholic school. When I heard the term 'liberal' I was a bit confused, but when I took the time to research the topic to educate myself I learned it has nothing to do with political affiliation. Judgement is for God to decide, not for us to condemn. Jesus died so that sins may be forgiven, and I found this church to truly embrace and practice this belief. I'm grateful I attended service and found myself a home.

I also had my daughter baptized there but me not knowing that the God Parents had not had the chance to make the "donation" I was threatened with not having my baby baptized of if I didn't get the money to them.
