We got sucked into Salvarani by the swish (half filled) showroom, a truly genuine Receptionist/salesperson, Diane and a smooth talking designer Lawrence. To be fair, Lawrence did come up with a design which we felt was something really good but that's where the good story ends. Once the funds were paid for the job to get started the designer was pretty much uncontactable and after several days of chasing him up we learnt that the General Manager of the business (Steve) whom we had glowing reports about had left the business and also the company was in the process of changing manufacturers. A new Manager Moe had taken over from Steve. We also learnt that Moe had absolutely no experience in the industry which was quite apparent from the start. This sent alarm bells ringing for us and in hindsight rightly so. To cut the long story short, the design was passed on to the new manufacturer without being properly completed with all the finer detail and the end result was we had a Kitchen delivered with numerous deficifencies and the amount of rework we've had to endure has been immense. It is now 5 months since they started installation and we are still awaiting completion. We understand the Company expects the Installers to rectify all the issues at a fixed price which doesn't motivate them to come to the job and complete the tasks. Neither the New Manager or the Designer has been around to inspect the job for quality control etc. which has necessitated us to manage this process. We have recently had to pay the Salvarani installers extra out of our own pockets just to get them to get the job completed out of sheer frustration because if we didn't this would have dragged on for even longer.
We still believe that Salvarani have a unique design/product. However, the local franchisee has trashed the brand through sheer mismanagement and the sad thing is they just don't realise it and just keep defending their actions. I agree with the previous reviewer who said that this singular individual (Moe) can bring the business down - which I think he already has. I am not sure if Salavarani in Italy are aware of what's going on in Oz - probably too far away for them to worry about! read more
