I've been coming here for 5 years and seeing Ann. She owns the shop with her husband. The shop is small with a few other people who work here. You can get manicures, pedicures, acrylic, dip, etc. They also do waxing and Ann's husband does hair. It's nothing fancy but they do a good job. I've done acrylics and dip nails here. Ann's work is very good and the prices are very reasonable. $25 for an acrylic fill and $40 for dip fill. She has many dip colors and continues to get new ones. I always book my appointments ahead and ask for her. It's pretty easy to book an appointment. She is also fast (not sloppy!), it usually takes only an hour to get my nails done. What I really like about this place is the quality. Over 5 years I think I have broken a nail once, maybe twice. I usually go 4 weeks between fills, which is long for most people. With the shelter in place currently happening, it's been 9 WEEKS since I got my nails done and I have only lost 3 nails. The grow out isn't pretty but all my other nails are still on and they don't seem like they're going anywhere. I probably would still have the last three if I didn't pick at them. I have been in pain for almost 1 week because of my manicure / pedicure with Ann. I have had my nails done periodically for 20 years and have never experienced this amount of pain from a nail service. She rounded the corner of my toe nail and fingernail so much that it grew into my skin and is digging into my skin. I literally went to see a podiatrist for him to cut out the ingrown nail and explain how the nail was improperly cut with a diagram. My fingernail starting throbbing in pain recently and upon some research, I think it's also ingrown. :( I have never experienced this sensation and find it odd it hurts so much given how small a fingernail can be (I've birthed children to give you a sense of my pain tolerance). The cause is probably similar: "improper trimming, such as leaving a nail spike on the end." It's causing a very sharp pain and I can't seem to remedy it. Do not recommend this nail salon. Not a "yelper" but I understand! Never get your hair trimmed or cut here. I've been coming here for years off and on for brows and nails, which was always okay. I came a few months ago for half an inch trim which was fine, then I came again a few days ago hoping I could get a nice half inch trim before my birthday, but the guy convinced me I needed at least an inch. I thought the cut was taking too long, when I realized he CHOPPED off a good 2 inches. Not to mention he straightened my hair while it was wet and put way too much oil on it. I later washed it and left it naturally curly and didn't notice anything odd, but when I straightened it today I realized how CHOPPY it was! Never ever has my hair been this choppy, maybe when I was like 3? Was planning on going back to get it fixed but I think I deserve my money back. I don't understand why this place has such good reviews. It's by far the worst pedicure I ever had. It was so painful. The woman that was working on me was so rough. I told her she was hurting me and if she could be more gentle. Her respond was " you're just too soft" What the heck is that supposed to me? Also, I'm Vietnamese but they don't know that. They were talking smack that I came in too early for my appointment and it's such a burden for them. Made an appointment for my first gel manicure. Got an appointment the next day, a Friday afternoon right at the time I wanted. I arrived early, and they sat me right away to pick my paint color and started on my regular pedicure. Chairs very comfortable and appreciated the extra pillow for comfort. Brought pics for ideas for nails for my Disneyland trip that weekend. Moved me over to the manicure table and so pleased with the process. So happy with my design I was given. TLDR: Friendly staff, but deeply disappointed with design and the actual shape of the nail. Not enough attention to detail. The staff was pretty friendly, but I walked away really disappointed with my nail design and shape. The shape of the acrylic nail is pretty messy, there was a piece of I have no idea on the edge of my middle nail after filing and instead of removing it, it was just painted over leaving a little lump. The more I look it over the more I see that bothers me about the shape of each nail, and I wasn't asked how I liked the shape. They simply asked how I liked the length, and as soon as they were done shaping they had already moved on to painting before I could get a good look. I'm also noticing little lumps all over the nail. Asked for a specific design, which they did attempt, but for 8 of my nails they stamped individual snowflakes at random (which fit closer to my requested design) and for the last 2 nails she just stamped the same template, same position so it doesn't really fit with the others. The template didn't even fit on the thumb. I can line where the template ends on the nail. Seems like she just wanted to be done and threw on something that was close enough on the last two. I was one of the last clients there, so it seemed to be the case. Definitely going to head to a different salon tomorrow to see if they can fix it for me or just remove it because the more I see it, the more I'm seeing wrong. read more

Be very wary of Tony cutting your hair! He is not very good at listening to what you specifically ask for! What was supposed to be only an 1.5 inches off turned into 3 /4 inches gone!!! Look for the post office, it's one door East. Pros: -Cheap!!!! $20 for a pedicure or $30 for a mani-pedi. -They take credit cards. -I didn't wait as a walk in on a Monday at 4:00 PM. I called and they said they're open until 7 PM on Mondays. -Tammie was very meticulous in trimming my toenails. -Free street parking for two hours. -A reviewer on Yelp complained about little bumps in her polish, I did not experience this. Cons: -The massage chair wasn't very comfortable, but not that big of a deal when the pedicure was half of what I've paid in Menlo Park and San Francisco. -Exfoliation is done by hand with a pumice stone. I think the spinning machines some upscale salons have are more effective, but you get what you pay for. -No quick dry top coat or fans to speed up pedicure dry time. Overall, not a bad place if you have more time than money. read more

Love, love, loooove this salon! I've been going here for about 5 years and I've never been disappointed. The manicurists are incredibly nice and make you feel very comfortable. The manis and pedis are priced fairly and always great. I've never had an issue with the acrylics either. With me, I'm a very clumsy person and have messed my nails up right after they're done multiple times; Tran is awesome and never charges me. This is also the ONLY place I will get my eyebrows done. I have a mild allergy to any wax used on my face, and Rochelle has been amaaaaazing every time. She will patiently pluck them with almost no pain, and the shape is always perfect. I LOVE this place! I live in LA now but I refuse to find a place out here! I fully plan on going home once a month to get my nails done here or at least every other month for waxing! I needed to get my get polish removed, and Salon Image was free to take me on a Monday night. They had a small storefront, but the inside is roomy enough and pretty clean. I didn't get a mani or pedi, so this review is strictly for gel removal! I wanted to write a review for Salon Image because the way in which they removed my gel polish was so unique! Instead of scraping the polish off, he actually clips away at it with the cuticle scissors. This makes the process much less invasive! I didn't feel like my nail was being destroyed in the process. He said they charge $35 for a gel mani and $25 for a pedi, but there is a $5 discount if you do both (total of $50). Staff seem friendly. I would come back to try their mani pedi service. read more

This is the only place I go to get manicures and pedicures-even though I have gift cards and certificates to other places. It is cheap, the people are nice, and they are fast. When you get a manicure/pedicure, they do them both at the same time. The polish always lasts a long time without chipping. I love when Tammy does my nails. She is very good. Rochelle is also good and easy and fun to talk to. It is not as trendy-looking as some other places, but do not let that alarm you. They are very clean and professional. This place is awesome for so many reasons! I don't get manicures or pedicures very often, so when I do I expect a lot. My mom took me to Salon Image before we left for a week long cruise to Mexico. Needless to say, my pedicure lasted completely through my trip, no chips at all. I'm a water baby so its important to me that the pedicure withstands the surf and sand. Not to mention, I taught swim lessons during the summer and this pedicure lasted through 30 hours a week in a pool!! It was amazing. Which is why I plan on returning again and again. Also, later this summer I ended up getting an extremely overpriced pedicure at a salon in Vegas and it didn't even last half as long as the one from Salon Image. The only bummer is that they aren't open on Sundays and I couldn't seem to find a display of their hours on the outside of the place. Other than that, it is well worth the money (its really well priced). They've also done my eyebrows really well for about $20. I actually recommend the men there-- they surprisingly seem to take their time and do a little bit better than the women, although all of the staff are awesome! read more

This is long overdue and much deserved! I have been going to Salon Image for over 10 years. It's a well kept secret! I should have shared this place other than with my close friends, but sometimes word gets out about a great place and the next thing you know, you can barely get an appointment. It was selfish of me, I know. Cat's out of the bag now! The current owner Tom and his wife are really nice. Truthfully, everyone who works there is nice. I like the quiet and relaxed atmosphere it provides especially while getting my pedicure. I bring my magazines or a good book and enjoy my quiet time. I usually get a mani/pedi together. I can always get a reservation even at the last minute. They easily take walk-ins too. The salon is clean!! That is extremely important to me. They guarantee the nail color to last for two weeks!!! It easily does that. Finally, the prices are fabulous! My mani/pedi combo only costs $30!!! It allows me to go there more often than if I were paying the higher price at some other frou-frou place. Love this place! Discovered it when my daughter and I wanted to get mani's and pedi's last year. Friendly ladies who did our nails. Dana was my lady. These are the reasons why I liked this place: 1. The people in there were not speaking to each other in a different language. Sometimes it feels like the ladies from other salons that I have visited speak to each other and are talking about you as they stare at you when talking. I realize this is probably a cultural thing but it feels rude to me so I really appreciated that they did not do this. 2. Their prices were very reasonable. 3. They were not crowded. 4. They were very welcoming. 5. Walk in's are welcome but it is best to make an appointment. While we don't get our nails done often, when we do, we go to Salon Image. This review is way over due! I came here with my boyfriend as an anniversary gift. The first time I had an overall good experience but towards the end is when we both felt offended. They demand a tip even tho my boyfriend was ready to tip and well too! We made the mistake of trying this place a second time and thats when I was extremely frustrated with their mediocre shellac job. I showed them a picture and asked them several time if they would be able to do the same thing. They said yes and 1 hour later it was a complete disaster. When I complained and said is not what I wanted they said I was wrong, which of course got me furious! They tried to "fix" it with (extreme attitude) but ended up making it even worse. At this point I am annoyed, tired and just want to fix it somewhere else! They knew I was upset and still charged me full price for such unprofessional performances. They wasted my time and money because I was so unhappy with the shellac work I had to get it all redone at the nail salon across the street. That day I ended wasting double what I had to because this place couldn't do it right the first time.Save yourself the headache, time and money and take your business somewhere else! After some time I asked about the salon chairs, I now get my color, highlights and Brazilian Blowout too! I couldn't decide if I should give this place one or two stars then remembered the sign that mentioned they were involved in a lawsuit. They accommodated me and a friend which was nice but since I arrived 10 minutes later they rushed my scrub, mani and pedi. The place did not look clean. In fact it looked like it could use a good hose down and a change of nail polish. The nail polish is limited and most of them are dried and cakey looking. This used to be my favorite place to got to for my nails, a quick wash and blow dry, I loved the owners, but I am very upset with their attitude yesterday. I have been going there for over a year at least twice a month. They gave me a "fidelity" card and told me that I could have a free manicure and pedicure when the card was full. Since I don't have regular manicure but gel manicure, Ann the owner had told me to bring my husband or a friend. So I did bring my niece for a manicure and I had a pedicure and a gel manicure. Well, Ann told me she could't not accept the free mani/pedi because the work was performed on 2 people. Well it did not say that on the card. So, I offer to pay the difference from my gel manicure to reg. manicure. She didn't accept that either. I will not return there again, and told both Ann and Tom, but they didn't seem to care and they charged me the full price for both manicures. I am really offended by their lack of recognition and appreciation for a regular customer who has brought them clients as well.
